Petrol and Diesel Prices Today, June 24, 2026: Check If Rates in Your City Have Gone Down

Mumbai, June 24: Petrol and diesel prices across major metros and state capitals remained largely the same. Key cities—including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad—saw no change. However, fuel remains costlier in several southern and western cities. 

A few cities did witness minor tweaks. Bengaluru did record a small decline, while Lucknow and Patna saw slight revisions.  

International oil prices extended their slide on Wednesday, languishing near four-month lows as easing geopolitical tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continued to reshape supply expectations in global energy markets. 

Sentiment has improved after signs of progress in U.S.-Iran talks and a series of steps aimed at restoring smoother crude flows through the key shipping chokepoint. As tanker movement through the Strait gradually normalises, markets are increasingly pricing in the return of disrupted supply. This is adding downward pressure on Brent crude and WTI futures. The easing of immediate supply risks has raised prospects of a glut coming up in the near term as additional barrels re-enter the once restless waterway. To be sure, Brent futures dropped 0.8% at $76.4 while WTI futures slid 0.9% to $72.6. 

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices across major Indian metros and state capitals largely remained steady, with most cities displaying no change in retail rates. New Delhi and Noida continued to see petrol priced around the ₹102 per litre mark, while Mumbai stayed above ₹111 and Kolkata remained elevated. Southern metros such as Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram continued to feature among the costliest cities, with prices staying above ₹115 per litre. 

A few pockets, however, saw marginal movement. Bangalore recorded a slight decline of ₹0.75 per litre, while Lucknow and Patna saw tweaks. Overall, the broader trend remains one of stability in fuel prices across the country. 

Diesel Prices 

Diesel prices across Indian metros and state capitals largely remained steady, with most cities reporting no change in retail rates. New Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida continued to be in the ₹95–₹95.60 per litre range, while Mumbai stayed just under ₹98 and Kolkata and Chennai remained near the ₹100 mark. Southern cities such as Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram continued to record the highest diesel prices, staying above ₹103–₹104 per litre. 

Bangalore saw a marginal decline of ₹0.76 per litre, while Patna also edged slightly lower. Lucknow, in contrast, recorded an uptick. Overall, diesel prices continue to show a pattern of broad stability with minor city-specific adjustments.
