Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, June 23, 2026: Bengaluru Sees Sharpest Increase as Fuel Rates Stay Broadly Stable Across Cities

Mumbai, June 23: Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major cities on June 23, with only marginal tweaks reported in select locations. While fuel rates in key metros such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad were mostly stable, a few cities saw notable revisions. Bengaluru recorded the sharpest increase in both petrol and diesel prices, while Jaipur, Gurugram and Bhubaneswar also saw modest gains. 

Crude oil prices edged lower on Tuesday after a sharp selloff in the previous session, as investors continued to track developments around the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations. 

Brent crude slipped to around $77.7 per barrel, extending its recent decline after falling more than 3% on Monday. The earlier selloff came as easing geopolitical tensions reduced the risk premium built into oil prices. 

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices remained largely unchanged across major cities on June 23, with only marginal tweaks in most locations. New Delhi and Hyderabad saw no change, with petrol continuing to retail at Rs 102.12 per litre and Rs 115.69 per litre, respectively. Meanwhile, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh, Noida and Patna recorded slight declines. 

Bengaluru saw the biggest increase, with petrol prices rising by Rs 1.07 per litre to Rs 111.68. Jaipur also saw a notable rise of Rs 0.69 per litre, while Bhubaneswar and Gurugram clocked gains of Rs 0.22 and Rs 0.17, respectively. Mumbai and Lucknow posted marginal increases of Rs 0.03 per litre each. 

Diesel Prices 

Diesel prices were largely unchanged across major cities on June 23, with most locations seeing either no change or only marginal tweaks. Prices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Hyderabad remained stable. Minor declines were recorded in Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram, while a handful of cities recorded some increases. 

Bengaluru saw the sharpest rise, with diesel prices climbing Rs 1.02 per litre to Rs 99.56. Jaipur followed with an increase of Rs 0.61 per litre, while Gurugram, Lucknow and Noida saw smaller gains. On the downside, Patna saw the steepest decline of Rs 0.18 per litre, followed by Chennai and Bhubaneswar.
