Mumbai, July 30: The exchange’s Price Band Hitters list remained relatively quiet during Thursday’s morning session. By 11:30 AM IST, only six stocks had entered the list, suggesting there were few extreme price moves despite active trading in the broader market.

Gulf Petrochem was the only stock to attract notable buying, rising almost 5% and trading close to its upper circuit. In contrast, Vividel, Utkal Tubes and SVP Global Ventures lost ground as selling pressure persisted in a handful of micro-cap counters.

Market Activity

Gulf Petrochem attracted the strongest buying interest, just shy of its upper price circuit. On the other hand, Utkal Tubes and SVP Global Ventures slipped close to their lower limits, while Vividel also traded in the red. MEP Infrastructure edged lower within its 2% price band, whereas Dharan saw little movement during the session

Why Price Band Hitters Matter

Stocks appear on the Price Band Hitters list when they move close to the maximum price range allowed for the day by the exchange. These limits are designed to prevent excessive volatility and ensure orderly trading.

For investors, the list can serve as an early signal of where buying or selling interest is building. Although reaching a price band does not always lead to a sustained move, it often highlights stocks that are reacting to fresh developments, stronger demand or a sudden change in market sentiment.

Conclusion

As of 11:30 AM IST on July 30, 2026, the Price Band Hitters list reflected a fairly calm session, with only six stocks featuring on the exchange’s watchlist. Gulf Petrochem was the standout gainer, while Vividel, Utkal Tubes and SVP Global Ventures remained under pressure. Although the list was short, it highlighted the few pockets of the market where trading activity and investor interest had become noticeably stronger.
