Lucknow, June 24, 2025 — PTC Industries Ltd (NSE: PTCIL, BSE: 539006) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited (ATL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Safran Aircraft Engines to develop components and materials for military aircraft engines, reinforcing India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the “Make in India” initiative.
Strategic Partnership Aimed at Defence Manufacturing
The MOU was signed at Paris Le Bourget and formalizes ATL and Safran’s intent to deepen collaboration for aerostructure components and materials for military applications. ATL currently supplies castings for commercial LEAP engines, and this move marks a strategic expansion into defence manufacturing.
“This Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant step towards enhancing India’s indigenous capabilities in military aircraft engine manufacturing,” said Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries. “It aligns with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, fostering collaboration and innovation while addressing defence needs”.
Growing Presence in India’s Defence Ecosystem
This partnership builds on ATL’s existing role in the civil aerospace sector, particularly its collaboration with Safran on LEAP engines, and is expected to contribute toward developing a robust domestic aerospace ecosystem in India. ATL’s parent company, PTC Industries, is a long-standing manufacturer of precision metal components, with a focus on aerospace and defence sectors.
Major Expansion Underway in Defence Industrial Corridor
PTC Industries is also investing significantly to expand its aerospace casting capacity. The company is building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on 50 acres at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. This upcoming facility will be vertically integrated, featuring a Titanium and Superalloy Mill to produce ingots, billets, bars, plates, and sheets of aerospace-grade materials.
Company Background
Founded over 60 years ago, PTC Industries Limited is a leading Indian manufacturer of precision metal components for critical applications. Its subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, specializes in Titanium and Superalloy castings for both domestic and export aerospace and defence requirements. PTC is listed on both NSE and BSE.
The strategic alliance with Safran is expected to enhance India’s technological sovereignty in the defence aerospace sector and create a stronger industrial base to meet both current and future defence requirements.
