RDB Infrastructure and Power has acquired full ownership of Arankam Green Energy Solution, an SPV developing a 6.3 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh, for ₹90 lakh.

Mumbai, June 24: RDB Infrastructure and Power Ltd has moved to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio by acquiring the remaining partnership interest in Arankam Green Energy Solution, a special purpose vehicle developing a solar power project in Uttar Pradesh.
The company said it has entered into a partnership interest acquisition agreement with the existing partners of the firm. Following completion of the transaction, RDB Infrastructure will hold a 100% partnership interest in the entity.
The acquisition has been agreed at a consideration of ₹90 lakh, to be paid in cash.
Arankam Green Energy Solution was created as a project-specific vehicle for the development of a 6.3 MW solar power plant in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The project is backed by a long-term power purchase framework awarded through Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy programme.
For RDB Infrastructure, the transaction is less about the acquisition value and more about gaining complete control over an operationally focused renewable energy asset.
Solar Expansion Strategy Gains Momentum
The acquisition comes as infrastructure companies increasingly look beyond their traditional businesses and seek opportunities in renewable energy projects with long-term revenue visibility.
According to the filing, the SPV was incorporated in April 2025 specifically to execute solar power projects and secure long-term power purchase arrangements.
By taking full ownership, RDB Infrastructure will be able to directly oversee project execution, financing decisions and eventual commercial operations without the involvement of external partners.
The move also gives the company a dedicated renewable energy platform that could potentially support additional clean-energy opportunities in the future.
Stock Market Snapshot
Despite the acquisition announcement, investor reaction remained muted.
As of 15:06 IST on June 24, 2026, RDB Infrastructure and Power shares were trading at ₹21.67, compared with the previous close of ₹22.81.
The RDB Infrastructure share price remained under pressure through the session, suggesting that investors are likely waiting for clearer visibility on project execution timelines and the earnings contribution from the solar asset.
While the acquisition cost is relatively small, the strategic value could become more meaningful if the project progresses successfully towards commercial operations.
Company Background
RDB Infrastructure and Power Limited, formerly known as RDB Realty & Infrastructure Limited, has interests spanning infrastructure, real estate and power-related activities.
The company has been gradually increasing its focus on renewable energy opportunities as India continues to expand solar and clean-energy capacity. Acquiring project-specific entities allows developers to participate in power generation assets while maintaining dedicated ownership and operational structures for individual projects.
Conclusion
The acquisition of Arankam Green Energy Solution gives RDB Infrastructure complete ownership of a vehicle developing a 6.3 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh. Although the transaction value is modest at ₹90 lakh, it aligns with the company’s broader push into renewable energy and provides a platform for future growth in the sector. Investors will now watch how quickly the project moves towards execution and commercialisation.
