Mumbai, November 11: Reliance Power Limited has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies Private Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from SJVN Limited. The LOA is for the largest allocation in the 1500 MW/6000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS tender. Reliance NU Energies Private Limited received a 750 MW/3000 MWh capacity, which is nearly half or the total tender allocation.

Tender Win Details

Reliance New Energy has secured 750 MW / 3,000 MWh capacity under the SJVN Limited tender.. The total size of the tender is 1,500 MW / 6,000 MWh. Within the total tender size, Reliance won 50% of the allocation. The tariff awarded for the project is ₹6.74 per kWh. The project includes an integrated solar capacity of approximately 900 MWp along with 3,000 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The main aim of the project is to ensure continuous power supply to DISCOMs across India. The auction saw strong competition and was oversubscribed by more than 3.3 times. It saw 14 bidders qualifying for the reverse auction process.

Reliance Power Share Price Falls 2.36% At ₹40.13

As of 10:40 AM, Reliance Power share price is down by 2.36%, or 0.97 points, and is trading at ₹40.13. Until now, the Reliance Power shares have traded within a range of ₹41.73 and ₹39.92. The current traded volume stands at 2.23 crore shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹16,998 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹76.49 and their 52-week low at ₹31.27.

Investor Takeaway for Reliance Power

The tender win by Reliance NU Energies Private Limited is a welcome step for Reliance Power as it will now lead to the Reliance Group becoming India’s largest company in the Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment. It will now have a total portfolio of 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of BESS across four major projects. However, as of now, Reliance Power shares are witnessing negative investor demand, and the share price is falling. Investors will hope that the shares can gain, and end the trading day in the green.
