The domestic currency exhibited a sharp intraday reversal today. While robust FCNR(B) inflows provided a strong opening momentum, a subsequent sell-off in domestic equities alongside a strengthening US dollar wiped out early gains, pushing the rupee into negative territory. Market participants remain cautious ahead of the today’s US announcement regarding fresh economic measures against Iran. From a technical perspective, spot USDINR is likely to consolidate within a range of 95.50 to 96.10 with positive bias.
