RVNL emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹358.97 crore East Central Railway project, adding another railway infrastructure contract to its execution pipeline.

Mumbai July, 20: Mumbai July, 20: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has bagged a ₹358.97 crore railway infrastructure project awarded by East Central Railway, further strengthening its order pipeline in the rail construction segment.
The company informed the stock exchanges that the contract involves engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the doubling of the Sitamarhi-Raxaul railway section in Bihar. The scope extends beyond track laying and includes earthwork, blanketing, minor bridges, station buildings, platforms, retaining walls, level crossings and other associated civil works between Kundwa Chainpur and Raxaul.
According to the regulatory filing, the project is scheduled to be completed within 1,095 days. The contract value stands at ₹358.97 crore, inclusive of GST.
The company also clarified that the project has been secured in the ordinary course of business and that neither the promoters nor related parties have any interest in the awarding entity.
Stock Market Snapshot
The announcement kept investor interest intact, with RVNL share price trading modestly higher during Monday’s session.
As of 2:53 PM IST on July 20, 2026, the stock was trading at ₹226.50, up 0.47% from its previous close. The shares remained largely range-bound for much of the day before witnessing fresh buying in the afternoon following the disclosure.
The muted rise suggests investors viewed the development positively while also factoring in that RVNL has secured L1 status, with the formal award expected after completion of the tender process.

Fresh Win Adds to Execution Pipeline
The latest project adds another railway contract to RVNL’s expanding portfolio of government infrastructure works. Over the past few years, the company has consistently secured projects across railway doubling, electrification, station redevelopment, metro systems and other transport infrastructure, giving it healthy revenue visibility.
Railway doubling projects remain a key focus area as Indian Railways continues to invest in increasing line capacity, easing congestion and improving freight movement across major routes. Contracts of this nature typically provide multi-year execution opportunities and strengthen the company’s order book.
Conclusion
While the final letter of award is awaited, emerging as the lowest bidder for a project of this size reinforces RVNL’s strong positioning in railway infrastructure tenders. If the contract is formally awarded, the ₹358.97 crore project will further bolster the company’s execution pipeline and support its long-term order book.
