Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has got the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Central Railway for a project of overhead electrification.
As per the official exchange filing on May 15, 2025, the project comprises modification of OHE to upgrade the existing 1×25 kV electric traction system to a 2×25 kV system at the Itarsi–Amla section feeding point in the Nagpur Division.
Project Details:
The electrification upgrade has been specifically planned to aid the loading capacity increment, in particular to address the goal of 3000 metric tonnes (MT). The effort falls under Indian Railways’ overall plan for making existing routes more efficient and carrying-capacity-friendly through optimal infrastructure upgradations.
RVNL has reaffirmed that the work awarded is within the normal course of business activities of the company and aligns with its continued role in facilitating electrification and capacity enhancement projects along India’s rail network.
This new order again reflects RVNL’s strong execution and reputation in the Indian railway infrastructure sector. The company remains a prime mover in spearheading the country’s rail network modernization using its project management and engineering services competencies.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited shares have gained a total of 46% in the last year, and 11.85% in the last month.
