Mumbai, November 20: The Indian stock market is trading with positive sentiments today, with Sensex and Nifty trading in the green. As of 12:55 PM, Sensex was up by 0.44%, or 373.44 points, and was trading at 85,559.91. It touched a high of 85,600.76, which is also its new 52-week high. On the other hand, Nifty was also up at the same time by 0.46%, or 119.25 points, and was trading at 26,174.55.

Key Gainers in Sensex and Nifty

As of 12:55 PM, Key gainers in Sensex were BAJAJFINSV trading at ₹2094.75 (+2.18%), Reliance at ₹1543.70 (+1.65%), BajFINANCE at ₹1019.15 (+1.35%), and Axis Bank at ₹1284.95 (+1.17%). Tech Mahindra was at ₹1454.00 (+1.10%), while HDFC Bank was at ₹1004.65 (+1.01%).

For Nifty, top gainers included EICHERMOT, which was at ₹7,106.00 (3.04%), Bajaj Finserv was at ₹2,094.00 (2.14%), Reliance was at ₹1,543.70 (1.63%), Tech Mahindra was at ₹1,455.00 (1.47%), Bajaj Finance at ₹1,019.70 (1.40%), Jio Financial at ₹308.30 (1.26%), HDFC Bank at ₹1,006.00 (1.15%), Hindalco at ₹799.45 (1.07%), and Axis Bank at ₹1,283.70 (1.05%).

Global Markets Boost Sentiment

Overnight, US markets jumped and ended their trading day in the green. The Dow Jones jumped by 0.10%, S&P 500 by 0.38%, and the Nasdaq Composite by 0.59%. Asian markets have traded positively today. The Nikkei Index rose by 2.65%, TOPIX by 1.66%, and JPX Nikkei Index 400 by 1.70%.

Positive Institutional Flows Provide Support

Yesterday, on November 19, Foreign Institutional Investors turned net buyers and bought Indian equities worth ₹1,580.72 crore net. On the other hand, Domestic Institutional Investors bought Indian equities worth ₹1,360.27 crore net.

Commodities and Currency Highlights

Oil prices jumped 0.16% after falling a day before. The Indian rupee also surged 0.15%, or 0.130 paise and was trading at 88.59 per US dollar. Gold prices surged to ₹1,27,310 per 10 grams.

What’s Ahead?

The global positive factors, positive institutional flows and the performance of Asian markets have boosted investor sentiments. Sensex has already touched its new 52-week high, and Nifty is very close to touching its 52-week high of 26,177.65. Investors will be hoping that both indices close today’s trading session at their new 52-week high.
