Mumbai, October 14: Sigma Advanced Systems Limited has signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Munitions India Limited to develop and manufacture indigenous 155 mm artillery course-correction fuzes, in a collaboration aimed at strengthening domestic defence technology capabilities.
The partnership covers the integration, indigenous manufacturing and supply of course-correction fuzes, along with associated components, subsystems and technologies. The announcement was made in a press release dated October 14, 2026.
The collaboration combines Sigma Advanced Systems’ engineering and programme execution capabilities with Munitions India’s ammunition manufacturing infrastructure. The companies intend to work on technology transfer, qualification, local manufacturing and integration of advanced course-correction solutions for artillery ammunition.
Course-correction technology allows an artillery projectile to adjust its trajectory during flight. The objective is to improve accuracy and operational effectiveness while reducing reliance on imported defence technologies.
According to the company’s announcement, the programme will build on the Course Correction Guidance Kit, a technology platform used by international customers. The collaboration is also intended to support the development of domestic manufacturing and engineering capabilities for advanced defence systems.
Stock Market Snapshot
The Sigma Advanced Systems share price stood at ₹980.00 as of 9:26:44 AM IST on October 14, 2026, according to the market data.
The stock was down ₹25.30, or 2.52%, at the time. Shares were trading lower during early market hours.
The share price movement coincided with the announcement of the defence technology collaboration. However, the available information does not establish that the MoU was responsible for the decline.

Partnership Targets Indigenous Defence Manufacturing
The companies aim to establish a domestic industrial and engineering framework for next-generation course-correction solutions. The programme could also create opportunities to combine international technology expertise with Indian manufacturing and integration capabilities.
Munitions India, a defence public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, manufactures ammunition, explosives and related defence products for India’s armed forces and international customers. Its established production infrastructure is expected to complement Sigma Advanced Systems’ engineering capabilities.
Sigma Advanced Systems operates in aerospace and defence precision engineering, with capabilities spanning mission-critical systems, avionics, naval systems, radars and communications. The company said the partnership aligns with the broader push towards domestic defence production and the development of advanced indigenous technologies.
Conclusion
The exclusive MoU sets out a framework for Sigma Advanced Systems and Munitions India to collaborate on 155 mm artillery course-correction technology, including local manufacturing and technology integration. The announcement does not disclose a specific contract value or revenue commitment arising from the partnership.
Sigma Advanced Systems shares were trading at ₹980.00, down 2.52%, as of 9:26:44 AM IST on October 14, 2026.
