Bangalore, August 11, 2026: Silver prices in Bangalore gave buyers another reason to keep an eye on the market on Tuesday. The price of silver climbed ₹10 to ₹255 per gram, taking the costof 1 kg to ₹2,55,000.
The move is fairly noticeable when you look at larger quantities. The price of 10 grams has increased by ₹100 to ₹2,550, while 100 grams is now ₹25,500, up ₹1,000 from the previous day’s rate.
For anyone buying silver in bulk, the 1 kg rate has jumped by ₹10,000 in a single day, from ₹2.45 lakh to ₹2.55 lakh.
Silver Rate in Bangalore Today
| Quantity | Today’s Rate | Previous Rate | Change |
| 1 gram | ₹255 | ₹245 | +₹10 |
| 8 grams | ₹2,040 | ₹1,960 | +₹80 |
| 10 grams | ₹2,550 | ₹2,450 | +₹100 |
| 100 grams | ₹25,500 | ₹24,500 | +₹1,000 |
| 1 kg | ₹2,55,000 | ₹2,45,000 | +₹10,000 |
So, whether you’re looking at a small 10-gram purchase or a full kilogram, today’s move is clearly visible in the bill.
Why Today’s Move Matters
Silver had been sitting at ₹245 per gram from August 7 through August 10. Before that, it was trading at ₹240 on August 5 and 6.
Today’s ₹10 jump breaks that short period of stability and pushes silver to its highest level in the 10-day data shown.
More importantly, silver is now ₹20 per gram above its August 2 rate of ₹235.
That may not sound huge when looking at a single gram, but the difference adds up quickly:
- 10 grams: ₹200 higher
- 100 grams: ₹2,000 higher
- 1 kg: ₹20,000 higher
For buyers considering a larger purchase, that’s a number worth paying attention to.

What Will 10 Grams of Silver Cost?
At today’s rate of ₹255 per gram, 10 grams of silver has a base value of ₹2,550.
But that’s not necessarily what you’ll pay for a finished silver product.
Using the calculator’s assumed 12% making charge and 3% GST, the estimated bill comes to:
| Cost | Amount |
| Silver value | ₹2,550 |
| Making charges | ₹306 |
| GST | ₹86 |
| Estimated total | ₹2,942 |
So a 10-gram purchase would come to roughly ₹2,942 under these assumptions.
The actual amount can vary. A jeweller may charge a different making fee depending on whether you’re buying jewellery, a coin, an article or another silver product.
Silver Has Gained ₹20 Per Gram Since August 4
The recent trend has been fairly straightforward.
Silver was at ₹2,350 for 10 grams on August 4. It moved to ₹2,400 on August 5, then stayed there on August 6.
On August 7, the rate moved up again to ₹2,450 and remained unchanged for three days.
Now, on August 11, another ₹100 has been added to the 10-gram rate, taking it to ₹2,550.
In other words, the price has moved higher in a series of steps rather than through one continuous jump.
What This Means for Buyers
If you’re buying silver today, the immediate takeaway is simple: the metal is more expensive than it was last week.
Someone buying 1 kg today would pay ₹20,000 more than they would have paid at the August 4 rate, before any additional charges.
That doesn’t automatically mean buyers should rush into a purchase. Silver prices can move both ways, and the rate quoted by a jeweller may differ from the indicative market rate shown here.
For jewellery or silver articles, it’s also important to check the making charge separately, because a lower quoted silver rate doesn’t necessarily mean a lower final bill if the making charges are higher.
Invest in Silver ETF on HDFC Sky
For investors who want to invest in silver but don’t want to handle the storage or purity issues, Silver Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) offer a simple way to get involved. These funds usually hold silver that is about 99.5% pure, which makes it trustworthy for investors. To start investing in Silver ETFs, you need a demat and trading account, which is already used by many people who trade in stocks. On HDFC Sky investors can buy ETFs quickly and easily

Silver Rate vs Final Purchase Price
The per-gram figure is best viewed as a starting point.
The final amount can depend on:
- Current silver rate
- Weight of the product
- Making charges
- GST
- Product/design
- Jeweller-specific charges
So if you’re comparing prices between two shops, compare the final payable amount, not just the silver rate displayed outside the store.
Bottom Line
Silver has started the day on a stronger note in Bangalore. The rate is now ₹255 per gram, up ₹10 from yesterday.
That puts 10 grams at ₹2,550, 100 grams at ₹25,500 and 1 kg at ₹2.55 lakh.
The bigger picture is also worth noting: silver has gained ₹20 per gram over the past week, moving from ₹235 on August 4 to ₹255 today. For a 1 kg purchase, that’s a ₹20,000 increase in the base value.
For buyers planning to purchase silver today, the headline rate is only one part of the calculation. Making charges and GST can push the final bill higher, so checking the complete cost before buying is the smarter move.
Silver rates are indicative and may vary across jewellers and locations. The quoted rates do not necessarily include making charges, GST or other applicable levies. Check with the jeweller for the final price.
