Delhi, August 6: Silver prices were unchanged in the national capital on Thursday, with the market holding on to Wednesday’s gains instead of extending them. Retail rates remained at ₹240 per gram, while 1 kilogram of silver continued to be priced at ₹2,40,000, suggesting that buyers and sellers are waiting for fresh cues before driving the next move.

According to today’s retail rates, silver is trading at ₹240 per gram, unchanged from the previous session. The price of 1 kilogram also remained steady at ₹2,40,000, reflecting no day-on-day change.

Although Thursday didn’t bring another price hike, the market has comfortably held on to the gains recorded a day earlier. After several sessions of little to no movement, silver now appears to have settled at a higher level rather than slipping back immediately.

Silver Hits the Pause Button

After Wednesday’s rally, Thursday turned out to be a much quieter session.

Instead of extending the uptrend, silver spent the day holding firm at ₹240 per gram. While that may seem uneventful, it also means the market didn’t give back any of its recent gains—a sign that prices have found some stability after breaking out of the ₹235 range.

For buyers, this offers a brief opportunity to plan purchases without another immediate jump in prices. Investors, meanwhile, will be watching overseas markets and industrial demand for signs of where silver heads next.

Why Do Silver Prices Change Every Day?

Silver prices are shaped by a mix of investment demand and industrial activity. Apart from global precious metal prices, factors such as the rupee’s movement against the US dollar, inflation expectations, import costs and geopolitical developments all influence daily rates.

Silver is also widely used in industries including electronics, solar energy, electric vehicles and healthcare. Because industrial demand plays a much bigger role than it does for gold, silver often experiences sharper price swings whenever market sentiment changes.

Conclusion

Silver prices in Delhi remained steady on Thursday at ₹240 per gram and ₹2,40,000 per kilogram, taking a pause after Wednesday’s recovery. While there was no fresh upside during the session, the market has so far shown little inclination to surrender its recent gains. Investors and buyers will now be watching global precious metal trends and industrial demand for clues on where silver heads next.
