What Drives Silver Prices?
Silver prices are influenced by global bullion rates, rupee-dollar movement, import costs, industrial demand and local retail buying. The metal also has wider industrial use than gold, especially in electronics, solar panels and manufacturing, which can make price movements sharper at times.
For retail buyers, the listed silver rate is only the metal value. Making charges and GST are added separately, so the final bill can differ across jewellers.
Conclusion
Silver prices in Kolkata remained unchanged on July 14 at ₹235 per gram and ₹2,35,000 per kg. The market has stayed flat for three sessions after the fall on July 11. Even with the recent stability, silver is still trading below its July opening level and well below the month’s high of ₹2,50,000 per kg.
