Mumbai, June 17: Silver prices in India held steady on Wednesday, with the national rate flat against Tuesday’s level as the precious metals complex extended its consolidation phase. The national rate stands at ₹265 per gram — or ₹2,650 per 10 grams and ₹2,65,000 per kilogram — unchanged from Tuesday’s ₹2,650 per 10 grams in the mainstream market, marking the second straight session without movement after Monday’s sharp rally.

The unchanged reading on Wednesday suggests traders are largely on the sidelines, awaiting clarity from the Federal Reserve’s ongoing FOMC meeting before taking fresh positions in the metal. With no fresh catalyst overnight, silver appears to have found a temporary equilibrium after the volatility earlier in the week, with dollar weakness and rate-cut expectations continuing to provide the underlying support that drove Monday’s gains. The metal’s steady hold near current levels indicates the rally hasn’t reversed, even as upward momentum has clearly paused.

Across India’s major cities, Wednesday’s pricing structure remains unchanged from Tuesday, with the two-tier premium pattern holding firm. The mainstream tier — Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad — continues to trade at ₹2,650 per 10 grams, flat with Tuesday’s levels in these cities. The premium cluster of Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala also remains steady at ₹2,750 per 10 grams, unchanged from Tuesday, maintaining the ₹100 premium over the mainstream rate that emerged after Tuesday’s narrowing from Monday’s wider ₹150 gap.

Gold prices, meanwhile, eased modestly on Wednesday after two sessions of near-flat trading. The national rate for 10 grams of 24 karat gold stands at ₹1,51,360, down from Tuesday’s ₹1,51,540, while 22 karat gold trades at ₹1,38,740 and 18 karat at ₹1,13,520, both also lower than the previous session. Chennai continues to command the highest gold rates nationally, with 24 karat gold priced at ₹1,53,370 per 10 grams.
