Silver Makes a Sharp Move Higher
The move from ₹245 to ₹255 per gram may look small at first glance, but it adds up quickly when buying larger quantities.
A 10-gram purchase is now ₹100 more expensive than yesterday, while the difference reaches ₹1,000 for 100 grams. For a 1 kg purchase, the jump is ₹10,000.
That makes today’s move particularly relevant for buyers planning larger silver purchases rather than just small quantities.
Why Does Silver Price Change Every Day?
Silver prices are influenced by both global and domestic factors. International silver prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, industrial demand, inflation expectations, interest rates and broader precious-metal trends can all affect domestic rates.
Unlike gold, silver also has significant industrial demand, which means changes in manufacturing activity and global economic expectations can have an impact on prices.
Local taxes, transportation costs and dealer margins can also create small differences between cities.
Conclusion
Silver prices in India moved higher on August 11, with the rate rising ₹10 to ₹255 per gram. The price of 1 kg of silver has climbed to ₹2,55,000, up ₹10,000 from the previous session.
The increase is visible across larger quantities as well, with 100 grams now costing ₹25,500 and 10 grams priced at ₹2,550.
Among the listed cities, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala have the highest rate at ₹2,60,000 per kg, while several other major cities are at ₹2,55,000.
For buyers, the next move in international silver prices and currency markets will be key in determining whether this latest jump holds or gives way to a correction.
