Mumbai, June 30: Both NSE and BSE will be shut for eight days in July but will not have any weekday holidays in July 2026. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain open on all business days throughout the month. All the eight days of these closures fall on weekends and are part of the regular trading calendar.

This means investors can look forward to uninterrupted trading across the equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments on every Monday through Friday in July. The absence of festival-related holidays also ensures a full trading month after June, when markets remained closed for Muharram.

The exchanges will remain closed on the following dates:

Trading will resume as usual on the next business day after each weekend.

Are there any weekday market holidays in July?

No.

Unlike several other months in the year, July does not have any scheduled exchange holidays for festivals or national observances. As a result, the NSE and BSE will operate normally on every weekday during the month.

Upcoming NSE and BSE holidays in 2026

Holidays for the year are:

*Although Diwali Laxmi Pujan falls on a Sunday this year, the exchanges will hold a special Muhurat Trading session. The exact timings will be announced separately by the NSE and BSE closer to the festival.

Why should investors track market holidays?

Keeping track of the stock market holiday calendar helps investors and traders plan their investments, settlements and trading strategies more effectively.

Some key points to remember:

  • Equity, derivatives and SLB segments remain closed on exchange holidays.
  • Settlement schedules may change around long weekends.
  • Corporate announcements, global market movements and macroeconomic developments continue even when Indian markets are shut.
  • International markets may remain open during Indian holidays, which can influence domestic market sentiment when trading resumes.

With no interruptions to weekday trading in July and August, investors will have two consecutive months of regular market sessions before the next scheduled holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi in September.
