Mumbai, Sept 11: Here are five stocks making news on Friday, from Qualiance International’s SME debut to a battery storage joint venture at Premier Energies to a sharp profit jump at Shankesh Jewellers to a corporate restructuring at Bharat Forge, and a fresh round of block deals at Sri Lotus Developers and Realty. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.

Qualiance International: Shares set to list on NSE SME today

Qualiance International is set to make its stock market debut on Friday, with shares listing on the NSE SME platform. The Rs 45.11-crore initial public offering, a fresh issue of 35.52 lakh shares priced in a band of Rs 120-127, was subscribed 458.80 times overall by the close of bidding on September 8, led by strong demand from non-institutional investors. The Tiruppur-based company, which designs and manufactures performance and technical garments, including military uniforms and tactical outerwear for institutional and government clients, plans to use the bulk of its IPO proceeds to fund a new manufacturing facility at Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. The issue was entirely a fresh issue with no offer-for-sale component, and demand built steadily through the three-day bidding window, rising from 13.59 times on day one to 88.88 times on day two before the final-day surge.

Premier Energies: Enters JV with Germany’s RCT Group for 12 GWh battery storage facility

Premier Energies has entered into a binding term sheet with RCT India, part of Germany-based RCT Group, to form a joint venture to establish a 12 GWh battery energy storage system manufacturing facility in Telangana. The proposed facility will be developed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh, marking the solar cell and module maker’s expansion into the fast-growing battery storage segment.

Shankesh Jewellers: Q1 profit doubles on strong revenue growth

Shankesh Jewellers reported a standalone net profit of Rs 43.2 crore in the first quarter, more than double the Rs 21.6 crore posted in the year-ago period. Revenue grew 55.1 per cent year-on-year to Rs 423.6 crore, up from Rs 273.2 crore, reflecting continued strong demand in the jewellery segment.

Bharat Forge: Simplifies overseas corporate structure via merger

Bharat Forge Holding GmbH, the wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Bharat Forge, has merged with Bharat Forge Global Holding GmbH, its own wholly owned subsidiary and immediate holding company. The company said the merger carries no implication for its standalone or consolidated financial statements, and was undertaken purely to simplify its corporate structure.

Sri Lotus Developers and Realty: Capital Group’s Smallcap World Fund buys 1.94% stake

Smallcap World Fund Inc, part of California-based Capital Group, bought 95.05 lakh equity shares, representing a 1.94 per cent stake in Sri Lotus Developers and Realty, for Rs 190.01 crore at Rs 199.89 per share. On the other side, promoter Anand Kamalnayan Pandit was the seller, offloading 97.7 lakh shares, or a 2 per cent stake, for Rs 195.3 crore at Rs 199.9 per share, marking a partial promoter stake sale to a marquee global institutional investor.

Broader Read

Friday’s triggers span a fresh SME listing debut for Qualiance International, a clean-energy joint venture for Premier Energies, a strong earnings print at Shankesh Jewellers, a corporate simplification at Bharat Forge, and a block deal at Sri Lotus Developers and Realty, a mix of company-specific developments for investors to weigh even as the broader market opens on a mixed note. Gift Nifty futures were trading around 23,343, up 16.50 points or 0.07 per cent, as of early Friday morning, pointing to a largely flat start after the Nifty 50 gained 46.30 points to close at 23,477.80 on Thursday. Oil holding above $105 a barrel amid an escalating Iran-Houthi conflict, alongside a sharply weaker Asian market session and a second straight red close on Wall Street, is likely to keep sentiment cautious through the session even as festive-season optimism offers some domestic support.
