Mumbai, Sept 16: Here are five stocks in focus on Wednesday, from a USFDA inspection outcome at Aurobindo Pharma to a bulk-deal exit at Welspun Enterprises to a defence-tech tie-up at Bharat Forge to fresh work orders at NBCC to a large solar order win at Saatvik Green Energy. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the session.

Aurobindo Pharma (AUROPHARMA): USFDA inspection at Apitoria Pharma facility ends with one observation

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (AUROPHARMA) said the USFDA inspection of its wholly owned subsidiary Apitoria Pharma’s active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing facility in Telangana concluded with one procedural observation. The company said it will respond to the regulator within the stipulated timeline. A single procedural observation is typically viewed as a relatively minor outcome compared with more serious classifications, and investors will watch for the company’s formal response and any subsequent update on the facility’s status.

Welspun Enterprises (WELENT): Authum sells 1.73% stake, Fidelity picks up shares in block deal

Welspun Enterprises Ltd (WELENT) saw a large bulk deal exit, with Authum Investment & Infrastructure net selling 24.02 lakh shares, representing 1.73 per cent of the company’s paid-up equity, for Rs 183.8 crore at an average price of Rs 765.02 apiece. On the buy side, Fidelity Securities Fund, through Fidelity Blue Chip Growth Fund, acquired 19.23 lakh shares, representing 1.38 per cent of the paid-up equity, at Rs 765 per share, in a transaction valued at Rs 147.15 crore. The near-matching trade sizes suggest an institutional block deal changing hands, with a large domestic fund stepping in as one large investor pared its stake.

Bharat Forge (BHARATFORG): Partners Pratt & Whitney Canada for DRDO’s HALE UAV programme

Bharat Forge Ltd (BHARATFORG) has partnered with Pratt & Whitney Canada to evaluate the integration of advanced turboprop engines into a High Altitude Long Endurance unmanned aerial vehicle programme being developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation. The collaboration covers engine compatibility and engine-airframe integration for the HALE UAV platform. The tie-up adds to Bharat Forge’s expanding defence and aerospace order pipeline, an area the company has been building out alongside its core forgings business.

NBCC (India) (NBCC): Bags work orders worth Rs 144.98 crore from NEEPCO, SAIL, ED and DVC

NBCC (India) Ltd (NBCC) said on Tuesday that it has received work orders worth approximately Rs 144.98 crore, excluding GST, from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation, Steel Authority of India, the Enforcement Directorate and Damodar Valley Corporation. The orders span township development, repair and maintenance of residential quarters, building repairs and painting, construction of sheds with cranes, office renovation and an officer’s dormitory building across Meghalaya, Jharkhand and Odisha. The largest single order, worth Rs 55.91 crore, is from SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant for comprehensive external repair and painting of 654 building blocks across sectors 2, 3, 8, 9 and 11 at the Bokaro Steel City Township in Jharkhand.

Saatvik Green Energy (SAATVIK): Wins Rs 1,041.63 crore solar module order from SECI

Saatvik Green Energy Ltd (SAATVIK) has received an order worth Rs 1,041.63 crore from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the supply of solar photovoltaic modules. The large order win adds meaningfully to the company’s order book and comes as domestic solar module demand continues to be driven by large-scale government renewable energy procurement programmes.

Broader Read

Wednesday’s triggers span a USFDA inspection outcome at Aurobindo Pharma, an institutional block deal at Welspun Enterprises, a defence-tech partnership for Bharat Forge, fresh government work orders for NBCC, and a large solar order win for Saatvik Green Energy, a mix of company-specific developments for investors to weigh even as the broader market stays on edge. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,118.60 on Tuesday, its lowest in five months, down 279.50 points or 1.19 per cent, while the Sensex fell 777.94 points, or 1.04 per cent, to 74,003.82, as surging crude oil prices and rising global bond yields overpowered gains in IT stocks and HDFC Bank. Gift Nifty futures were last trading at 23,239.50, up 36.50 points or 0.16 per cent, pointing to a muted-to-cautious start on Wednesday. Investors also await the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, due this week, for further cues on the global rate trajectory, even as Brent crude holds above $107 a barrel following fresh attacks on Saudi Arabian energy infrastructure.
