Mumbai, October 27: Sumitomo Chemical India Ltd has reported weak financials for the quarter ending September 30, 2025. It reported a 7.7% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹1,777.63 million, compared to ₹1,925.38 million in the same period last year.

Sumitomo Chemical India Ltd is an Indian company that is engaged in manufacturing agricultural products such as insecticides and pesticides. The company was established in 2000, and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The shares of the company are listed on NSE with the ticker symbol SUMICHEM, and on BSE with the code 543074.

Profit Slips 7.7% YoY to ₹1,777.6 Million

For the half year ended September 2025 (H1 FY25), the company reported a net profit of ₹3,558.59 million. This was an increase of 11.5% compared to ₹3,192.28 million in H1 FY24. However, revenue from operations fell by 5.9% year-on-year to ₹9,298.15 million in Q2 FY25 from ₹9,882.97 million in Q2 FY24. Total income also fell 5% to ₹9,686.17 million. Total expenses decreased 3.8% to ₹7,307.70 million. There was a 7.7% drop in profit after tax to ₹1,777.63 million from ₹1,925.38 million a year earlier. The total comprehensive income also fell 5.7% to ₹1,791.66 million.

Furthermore, material consumption rose to ₹4,548.92 million, while employee benefits expenses increased to ₹695.06 million from ₹660.51 million. Depreciation and amortisation was at ₹167.54 million. Finance costs rose to ₹22.35 million from ₹12.22 million. Other expenses stood at ₹1,130.34 million, higher than ₹1,093.41 million a year ago. As of September 2025, the company’s paid-up equity share capital was ₹4,991.46 million and other equity stood at ₹24,019.99 million. Basic and diluted EPS was ₹3.56 for Q2 FY25 and ₹7.13 for H1 FY25.

Shares Fall By 1.05%

As of 2:30 PM, Sumitomo Chemical India Limited share price is down by 1.05%, or 5.45 points, and is trading at ₹512.45. Until now, the shares have traded within a range of ₹538 and ₹506. The current traded volume stands at 11.07 lakh shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹25,851 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹665 and their 52-week low at ₹446.20.
