New Delhi: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries on Friday reported a 27 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,894.79 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 riding on strong momentum in the domestic market and innovative medicines.
The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,278.63 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries said in a regulatory filing.
Consolidated total revenue from operations in the first quarter stood at Rs 15,299.88 crore as compared to Rs 13,851.4 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
Total expenses in the quarter under review were higher at Rs 11,720.6 crore as compared to Rs 10,325.09 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said.
“Our performance during the quarter was driven by strong momentum in India as well as Innovative Medicines, which delivered robust growth across the US and international regions,” Sun Pharma MD Kirti Ganorkar said.
He further said, “Recent semaglutide approvals in India, Brazil and South Africa underscore our capabilities in developing complex peptide products for patients globally. Organon shareholders have approved the proposed acquisition by Sun, which is on track to close in early 2027.” Formulation sales in India were at Rs 5,474.9 crore, registering a growth of 16 per cent and accounted for 36.1 per cent of total consolidated sales, Sun Pharma said.
On the other hand US formulations sales were at USD 427 million, lower by 9.7 per cent but innovative medicines continued to grow, partially offsetting the decline in generics business, it added.
US sales accounted for approximately 26.6 per cent of total consolidated sales, the company said.
Sun Pharma said its global innovative medicines sales were USD 351 million for Q1FY27, up 12.8 per cent and accounted for 21.9 per cent of sales.
