Why Top Gainers and Losers Matter
The top gainers and losers list gives investors a quick snapshot of stocks that saw the biggest price movements during the session. It can help highlight where buying or selling pressure was relatively stronger. However, a single-day movement does not necessarily indicate a long-term trend. Investors should also consider trading volume, company-specific developments, valuations and broader market conditions before taking an investment decision.
Conclusion
The September 3 session saw a combination of gains and declines among prominent stocks. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd led the gainers with a 2.02% rise, while Bajaj Auto Ltd recorded the sharpest decline among the six losers at 1.73%. Banking stocks such as Axis Bank Ltd and HDFC Bank Ltd remained positive, whereas technology, automobile and consumer-facing stocks including Tech Mahindra Ltd, Bajaj Auto Ltd and Trent Ltd traded lower. Overall, the day’s movement remained selective rather than uniformly positive or negative across the market.
