Mumbai, August 11: Vodafone Idea, PC Jeweller and newly demerged Vedanta Group companies emerged among the most actively traded counters by volume today on NSE. Vodafone Idea gained nearly 2% after reporting a sharp narrowing in loss, while PC Jeweller advanced nearly 4% following a strong rise in earnings. Vedanta Iron and Steel also attracted significant investor interest amid expectations of passive fund inflows. Meanwhile, Vedanta Oil and Gas slipped after a sharp rally in the previous session. Here’s a look at the key stocks driving trading volumes on the NSE today.

Vodafone Idea Limited (up 1.93%)

Vodafone Idea shares rose in Tuesday’s trade after the telecom operator reported a sharp narrowing in its June-quarter loss, aided by higher average revenue per user.

Vodafone Idea’s consolidated loss after tax narrowed to ₹3,754 crore in the quarter ended June 30, from ₹6,608 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 6% year-on-year to ₹11,689 crore, beating estimates, while total expenses declined 3% to ₹17,242 crore.

A key positive was the improvement in average revenue per user (ARPU), which rose 10.2% year-on-year to ₹195. The increase was supported by a 2.1% rise in the company’s 4G and 5G subscriber base as more users moved towards higher-value services. Vodafone Idea’s total wireless subscriber base also increased to 193.1 million from 192.8 million in the previous quarter, marking its first quarter of net subscriber additions since the 2018 merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular.

The improvement comes as Vodafone Idea steps up investments in its 4G and 5G networks following fresh promoter funding and government relief on telecom dues. However, the company continues to face a sizeable debt burden, while its ARPU remains below that of larger rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.

PC Jeweller Limited (up 3.77%)

Shares of PC Jeweller rose sharply in Tuesday’s trade after the jewellery retailer reported a strong performance for the June 2026 quarter, with consolidated net profit increasing 37% year-on-year to ₹222 crore. Revenue from operations climbed 21% to ₹877 crore from ₹725 crore in the year-ago period, prompting investors to turn positive on the stock.

The company’s operating performance improved substantially, with consolidated operating profit after tax, excluding other income, rising 168% year-on-year to ₹213 crore from ₹79 crore in Q1 FY26. The sharp improvement in operating profitability was a key factor supporting the positive market reaction.

PC Jeweller’s progress on reducing its debt burden also remained a major trigger for investors. The company has completely repaid its outstanding debt with seven of its 14 consortium banks, with the repayments made ahead of their scheduled due dates. It has also discharged more than 96% of its outstanding debt.

The company said it remains on track to become debt-free during the ongoing quarter. The deleveraging could strengthen its balance sheet and reduce financial costs, while giving the company greater flexibility to invest in expansion. PC Jeweller also completed a ₹2,702.11-crore preferential issue of fully convertible warrants during the June quarter, with 93% of the proceeds realised.

The company has additional capital-raising plans in the pipeline. Its board approved a proposal in July to raise up to ₹1,000 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. The proposed fundraise is expected to support expansion and provide additional financial flexibility.

Foreign institutional investor interest in the stock has also increased. FII holding in PC Jeweller rose to 12.15% in the June 2026 quarter from 10.40% in the previous quarter, signalling increased institutional participation.

The company’s improving earnings, aggressive debt reduction and proposed QIP have therefore emerged as key factors behind the recent strength in PC Jeweller shares. The stock’s performance will now be closely watched as investors assess whether the improvement in operating profitability can be sustained in the coming quarters.

Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited (down 0.6%)

Shares of Vedanta Oil & Gas declined in Tuesday’s trade after surging in the previous session, as investors booked profits following the sharp rally.

Despite turning profitable with a net profit of ₹945 crore in the June quarter, the company’s shares came under selling pressure following the Q1 results announced in late July, remaining on a declining trajectory before the recent rebound.

The company ranks among India’s leading private-sector oil and gas producers, with interests across 44 blocks covering more than 47,000 square kilometres. Its production averaged around 87 kilo barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboepd) in FY26.

Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited (up 4.98%)

Shares of Vedanta Iron and Steel gained in Tuesday’s trade after a report estimated that the newly demerged company could attract passive fund inflows of around $3 million following the NSE Indices’ September 2026 index reshuffle. The stock is among four newly demerged Vedanta Group entities expected to collectively draw as much as $159 million in passive investments.
