Mumbai, May 8: Cochin Shipyard Ltd. said its wholly owned subsidiary, Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited, has secured a notable order from Ocean Sparkle Limited for the construction of four 70T Bollard Pull ASD tugs.

The company said the vessels will be built in accordance with the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS) issued by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, according to an exchange filing.

According to the regulatory disclosure dated May 7, deliveries under the contract are scheduled to begin from November 2028 and are expected to conclude by June 2029.

The filing also clarified that none of the promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding company and that the transaction does not qualify as a related party arrangement.

The latest order adds to the company’s marine construction pipeline at a time when domestic demand for port infrastructure support vessels and harbour operations equipment continues to grow.

Stock Market Snapshot

Cochin Shipyard share price traded lower during morning trade despite the order announcement.

The stock was quoted near ₹1,801 at 9:40 a.m. IST on May 10, compared with the previous close around ₹1,814, according to exchange data.

The stock initially moved higher toward ₹1,838 after opening but later gave up gains and slipped into negative territory as the session progressed.

Market participants tracked the order inflow alongside broader movement in defence, shipbuilding and infrastructure-related counters.
