Unusual movements in BSE 500 Stocks: 16 June 2026

Sapphire(+4%) / Devyani(+3.3%) : Shares of Devyani International Ltd and Sapphire Foods India Ltd rose as the merger process between the two companies moved forward after Devyani International, in an exchange filing, said it had received an observation letter with ‘no objection’ from NSE and an observation letter with ‘no adverse observations’ from BSE.

HCL Tech(+3.5%) HCL Technologies shares rose after the IT major acquired a 10.46 percent stake in Axonwise Private Limited (Sarvam AI) for Rs 1,427.25 crore, strengthening its presence in the artificial intelligence space.

Nalco(-5.5%) / Hindalco(-3.8%) : Shares of aluminium producers came under pressure after LME aluminium prices plunged as much as 5% in the previous session. Reflecting the weakness in global metal prices, shares of Hindalco Industries and National Aluminium Company reacted negatively.

GICRE(-6%): Shares of state-run General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) fell as the government has announced sell up to 5 per cent stake in the PSU via offer for sale (OFS). The counter opened at ₹371.20 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and touched a low of ₹366.
