Mumbai, November 26, 2025: Wipro Limited (NSE: WIPRO, BSE: 507685, NYSE: WIT) announced a new strategic alliance with the Indian Institute of Science and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development to advance innovation across frontier technologies, including agentic AI, embodied AI, quantum AI and quantum-safe solutions. Innovations enabled by AI and Quantum technologies will be the key focus areas of the collaboration.

Joint Research Program to Drive Next-Gen Digital Capabilities

As part of the partnership, Wipro and IISc intend to launch a collaborative research program that focuses on quantum computing, advanced AI models, secure digital infrastructure and new architectures for autonomous networks. Along with the senior faculty and researchers from IISc, the engineering and technology teams of Wipro will work on building scalable, enterprise-ready innovation.

The partnership will leverage the Wipro Innovation Network, a major component of Wipro Intelligence, which is aimed at facilitating co-innovation and the creation of industry-ready AI solutions, to advance its goals.

Focus Areas of the Collaboration

The partners will first and foremost commit themselves to achieving radical breakthroughs in those fields where the commercial applications have significant potential for impact:

  • Autonomous Networks and Agentic AI: Creation of telecom self-managing, predictive and high-performance networks that are suitable for connectivity and the 6G environments of the future.
  • Agentic & Embodied AI: Developing AI for real-world and simulated environments that are relevant to manufacturing, robotics, automotive and industrial operations.
  • Secure & High-Performance Computing: Developing quantum-inspired and advanced optimisation models that can be used to strengthen the energy, financial services, supply chain and critical infrastructure sectors for better resiliency.
  • Digital Trust Frameworks: Constructing the next-generation secure infrastructure through the use of distributed ledger innovations and quantum-safe techniques for: BFSI, healthcare, and public service systems.

Leadership Point of View

Sandhya Arun, Chief Technology Officer at Wipro, remarked that the partnership would leverage the depth of IISc in cutting-edge research and the strength of Wipro in applied innovation to deliver complex solutions for the enterprise sector in the fast-evolving technology landscapes.

Rajesh Sundaresan, Dean of EECS at IISc, remembered the relationship of the two institutions in the past and said that this partnership is an extension of that relationship and enables IISc to convert its high-impact research into real-world industrial applications.

Stock Performance

After the news, the stock price of Wipro closed on a positive note. The stock closed at ₹250.08 on November 26, 2025, recording a 1.81% gain (₹4.44) for the day.
