Kolkata, November 18, 2025: There was a decent rally experienced by the stock of WPIL Limited as it surged by 6.77% and reached ₹413 within the first ten minutes of the trading session on Tuesday. This was after the company had announced that it had won a major international contract (of ₹426 crore) through a regulatory filing. At 10:30 AM, the share of WPIL Limited lost only a bit of momentum and was still trading strongly at ₹405.70 (4.89% higher than the previous close).

Details of the Order

As per the regulatory filing, the company announced that its South African subsidiary has been awarded a major contract of ₹426 crore (approx. 821 million South African Rand). The contract is from METSI KE MATLA JV and relates to the completion of electromechanical and instrumentation works for the MCWAP2 project. The proposed project is related to the Trans Caledon Tunnel Authority in South Africa.

The total duration of the project will be four years, giving a lot of revenue visibility for the group. The company also clarified that it does not consist of any related party transactions.

Stock Price Movement

After starting the day strongly and reaching an intraday high (so far) of ₹422.90 per share, there was a bit of consolidation in the stock price. At 10:30 AM, it was trading at ₹405.70 (4.89% higher than the previous close). Even after today’s mini-rally, the stock has plummeted by more than 28.15% in the past year. Further, the company’s P/E ratio is 41.59, which is significantly more than the industrial average of 24.83.

WPIL Ltd, listed under the BSE SmallCap index, is engaged in the manufacturing and supply of pumps and turnkey project execution for water supply, irrigation, sewage, and industrial applications. The company operates through multiple subsidiaries globally, including in South Africa.
