Adani Energy Wins ₹8,500 Crore Transmission Project; Shares Rise 0.65%

Adani Energy Solutions secured an approximately ₹8,500 crore interstate transmission project in Andhra Pradesh, lifting its transmission order book above ₹80,000 crore.

Mumbai July, 24: Adani Energy Solutions Ltd has secured an interstate transmission project worth approximately ₹8,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh, a sizeable addition that takes the company’s transmission order book beyond ₹80,000 crore.
The project, titled Transmission System for Proposed Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia Projects in Vizag Area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-1), was awarded through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding route. Adani Energy Solutions emerged as the most competitive bidder, the company said in its exchange disclosure dated July 24, 2026.
The transmission system is designed to support the proposed green hydrogen and green ammonia projects around Vizag, where electricity demand is estimated at roughly 4,500 MW. It will also strengthen the network serving the upcoming green energy corridor and growing industrial and data-centre infrastructure in the region.
The project will be housed under special purpose vehicle Vizag Power Transmission Ltd. Its scope includes four 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV GIS substations at Pendurt(h)i in Vizag and three 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV Khammam-II substations.
AESL will add 1,582 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 10,500 MVA of transformation capacity through the project. The company expects to complete it within 30 months.

Adani Energy Solutions share price was trading at ₹1,694.70 as of 2:43 PM IST on July 24, 2026, up ₹10.90, or 0.65%, according to exchange market data.
The stock spent most of the session above its previous reference level. After moving close to ₹1,700 during the opening phase, shares briefly softened around 9:30 AM and again around 11:15 AM before recovering.
Buying picked up through midday, with the stock moving above ₹1,700 and briefly approaching the ₹1,715 level. Some gains were subsequently pared, although the counter remained in positive territory by mid-afternoon.

Project Expands AESL Transmission Network And Order Book
The latest award materially expands AESL’s project pipeline. With this addition, the company’s transmission order book has crossed ₹80,000 crore, according to its media release.
Once commissioned, the Vizag project will increase AESL’s transmission network from 29,531 circuit kilometres to 31,113 circuit kilometres. Transformation capacity will rise from 1,33,675 MVA to 1,44,175 MVA.
The company described the project as part of the energy infrastructure required to accommodate new green hydrogen and green ammonia capacity in Andhra Pradesh. It also expects the system to reinforce grid infrastructure serving industrial growth around the Pendurt(h)i-Vizag region.
Adani Energy Solutions operates across power transmission, distribution, smart metering and cooling solutions. Its retail electricity distribution operations serve about 13 million consumers in metropolitan Mumbai and the Mundra SEZ.
Conclusion
The approximately ₹8,500 crore Vizag transmission award gives Adani Energy Solutions a large new execution project with a scheduled completion period of 30 months. More significantly, it pushes the company’s transmission order book past ₹80,000 crore while adding 1,582 circuit kilometres and 10,500 MVA to its planned network.
Shares reflected a moderately positive market reaction. Adani Energy Solutions was trading 0.65% higher at ₹1,694.70 as of 2:43 PM IST on July 24, 2026.
