Apollo Micro Systems has secured a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order from the Indian Navy for its SAVIOR-ASW autonomous underwater surveillance system, with the stock rising over 3%.

Mumbai July, 22: Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. has secured a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order (PSO) from the Indian Navy for the development of its SAVIOR-ASW, an autonomous underwater surveillance system designed for anti-submarine warfare and maritime intelligence missions.
The company described the order as a significant milestone, marking its formal entry into India’s fast-growing autonomous maritime defence segment. The announcement was made through a press release submitted to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations.
Under the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP), a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order is the Indian Navy’s approval to begin prototype development under the indigenous procurement framework. Successful development and evaluation can pave the way for larger production orders in subsequent stages.
Apollo said the programme is intended to create an indigenous semi-submersible autonomous platform capable of carrying out persistent underwater surveillance, intelligence gathering and reconnaissance missions.
SAVIOR-ASW Targets Anti-Submarine And Maritime Security Missions
The SAVIOR-ASW platform has been designed to operate independently beneath the sea surface for extended periods while using advanced hydrophone arrays to detect submarines and other underwater threats.
Unlike conventional naval vessels that require significant manpower and operating expenditure, autonomous platforms can remain deployed for longer durations while monitoring critical maritime routes at a lower operating cost. The company believes such systems will play an increasingly important role in protecting India’s coastline, shipping lanes and strategic maritime assets.
Apollo also highlighted the growing importance of autonomous maritime technologies as naval forces worldwide invest in unmanned platforms for surveillance, reconnaissance and security operations.
Managing Director Baddam Karunakar Reddy said the sanction order validates the company’s indigenous defence technology capabilities and represents an important step in building advanced mission-critical systems for India’s armed forces.
Stock Market Snapshot
Investors welcomed the announcement, with the stock trading firmly higher during Wednesday’s session.
Apollo Micro Systems share price was trading at ₹404.05, up 3.46%, as of 12:51 PM IST on July 22.
While the Prototype Sanction Order does not guarantee future production contracts, it positions the company to participate in the next stages of the programme if development milestones are successfully achieved.

Company Background
Apollo Micro Systems develops electronic and electro-mechanical systems for defence, aerospace and homeland security applications. Its portfolio includes avionics, weapon system electronics, underwater technologies, surveillance solutions and mission-critical defence equipment supplied to the Indian armed forces and government agencies.
Conclusion
The Prototype Sanction Order strengthens Apollo Micro Systems’ presence in India’s indigenous defence ecosystem and opens the door to participation in an emerging area of autonomous maritime warfare. As the Indian Navy expands investments in unmanned and underwater technologies, the programme could create long-term opportunities beyond the initial prototype development phase.
