New Delhi: Leading QSR operator Devyani International on Monday reported a net profit of Rs 3.46 crore in the September 2026 quarter.

The company reported a net loss of 23.9 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by Devyani International Ltd (DIL).

Devyani International is the largest franchisee of Yum Brands in India, which operates labels like Pizza Hut, KFC, and Costa Coffee.

DIL’s revenue from operations rose 10.36 per cent to Rs 1,519.42 crore in the September quarter of FY27. It was Rs 1,376.75 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Total expenses of the quick service restaurant (QSR) operator increased 8.3 per cent to Rs 1,531.38 crore in the September quarter.

DIL’s total income, which includes other income, surged 16.72 per cent to Rs 15,997 crore in the second quarter.

In the first half of FY27, its total consolidated income jumped 13.7 per cent to Rs 3,131.09 crore.

Its Chairman Ravi Jaipuria said: “Despite steep inflation in raw materials and wages, the leverage from higher same-store sales and tight cost control helped us lift the EBITDA by nearly 18 per cent, to Rs 229 crore. This is one of the best Q2 operating EBITDA numbers that we have seen, and the same helped us post Profit before Taxes of Rs 5.7 crore for the quarter, against a loss last year”.

DIL’s total store network increased to 2,325 at the end of the September quarter.

“We added 70 net new stores during the quarter. KFC led the store additions, with 50 net new units added in India. This takes our store footprint to 1,923 stores in India and 2,325 globally,” he said.

The company is on track to meet our full-year guidance of 200–220 net new additions.

On the outlook, Jaipuria said: “Equally encouraging is the quality of growth that we are observing. Across brands, we have witnessed transaction-led growth – and growth in our on-premise channel sales. Both these trends are very heartening and are key to a long-term sustainable growth trajectory”.

DIL is the largest franchisee for Yum Brands’ QSR chains – KFC & Pizza Hut in India. In addition, DIL is the sole franchisee for Costa Coffee, Tea Live, New York Fries and Sanook Kitchen in India. It also owns the South Indian vegetarian food QSR chain Vaango.

Earlier this year, Sapphire Foods India and DIL, the two leading franchise operators of Yum! Brands for its KFC and Pizza Hut brands, announced a merger, through a share swap, which will create one of the largest chains in India with over 3,000 stores being operated by the combined entity.

DIL had last year acquired Sky Gate Hospitality, which owns brands such as Biryani By Kilo and Goila Butter Chicken.

Shares of Devyani International Ltd on Monday fell 4.11 per cent to Rs 115.60 apiece on BSE.
