Mumbai: Empower India Ltd reported a 21.66 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated total income to Rs 76.79 crore for the first half of FY27, while standalone profit before tax (PBT) surged 137.73 per cent as the company pursued expansion across digital infrastructure, data centres, artificial intelligence and engineering services.
Consolidated total income stood at Rs 63.12 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations increased to Rs 72.96 crore from Rs 61.25 crore in H1 FY26, according to the company’s unaudited financial results.
On a standalone basis, PBT rose to Rs 3.21 crore from Rs 1.35 crore a year earlier.
For the July-September quarter, consolidated total income increased 51.82 per cent year-on-year to Rs 37.49 crore. Standalone PBT improved to Rs 1.76 crore, compared with a loss before tax of Rs 9.2 lakh in the corresponding quarter last year.
However, consolidated profitability remained subdued. Consolidated PBT for the first half stood at just Rs 3.3 lakh, while the company reported a consolidated loss before tax of Rs 14.6 lakh for Q2 FY27.
The financial performance comes as Empower India seeks to broaden its business beyond its existing technology infrastructure activities, with plans to develop capabilities in sustainable digital infrastructure, AI implementation, robotics and engineering-led services.
The company is exploring opportunities in green data server and data centre solutions, leveraging its IT infrastructure integration and data centre management capabilities, alongside the renewable energy expertise of its subsidiary, Empower Energy Private Ltd, according to a company statement.
The proposed focus areas include customised server infrastructure, energy-efficient digital operations and intelligent infrastructure management.
Empower India is also planning to enter AI implementation, robotics and system integration through a partnership-led model. The company intends to facilitate the deployment, integration and customisation of third-party AI and automation solutions within existing enterprise systems and business workflows.
The strategy is aimed at addressing demand from businesses seeking to automate operations, improve efficiency and integrate emerging technologies into existing processes.
Separately, Empower India has signed an indicative, non-binding term sheet to acquire 100% of Valiance Engineers Private Ltd through a proposed non-cash share-swap arrangement.
The proposed transaction is intended to strengthen the company’s engineering and project execution capabilities and support its expansion into infrastructure and other engineering-led business opportunities.
The acquisition remains subject to due diligence, execution of definitive agreements and requisite corporate and regulatory approvals. No transaction valuation or exchange ratio has been disclosed in the announcement.
Rajesh Chavan, managing director and chief financial officer of Empower India, said the company was focused on building a diversified business platform spanning technology infrastructure, digital solutions and engineering-led opportunities.
He identified data centres, AI implementation and robotics as areas of long-term potential, while describing the proposed Valiance Engineers acquisition as a step towards strengthening the company’s engineering and project execution capabilities.
The company plans to focus on strategic partnerships, disciplined expansion and converting its new initiatives into sustainable business opportunities.
The proposed expansion marks an effort by Empower India to build a broader technology and engineering business portfolio. However, the commercial contribution of the new initiatives will depend on execution, partnerships, customer acquisition and the completion of the proposed acquisition.
Incorporated in 1981, Empower India Ltd is seeking to expand its presence across technology infrastructure, digital solutions and emerging technology-enabled businesses. Its stated areas of focus include IT infrastructure management, sustainable digital infrastructure, data centre solutions, AI implementation, robotics and system integration.
