Bangalore, July 20: Gold prices started the week with modest gains in Bangalore, breaking the flat trend seen over the weekend. While the increase wasn’t significant, it marked a positive shift after the market spent the last couple of sessions moving sideways.

According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is selling at ₹14,346 per gram, up ₹17 from Sunday. 22-karat gold has increased by ₹15 to ₹13,150 per gram, while 18-karat gold is now priced at ₹10,759 per gram, higher by ₹12.

The recovery may be small, but it suggests buyers are gradually returning after the correction seen during the middle of July. Even now, prices remain below the month’s highs, making gold relatively more affordable than it was a couple of weeks ago.

Gold Finds Support After Last Week’s Volatility

The mood in the gold market has changed noticeably over the past few sessions.

Instead of the sharp swings seen earlier this month, prices have started moving within a much narrower range. Monday’s gain isn’t large enough to signal a fresh rally, but it does indicate that selling pressure has eased and buyers are becoming more active at current levels.

With prices still below the highs seen earlier in July, many jewellery buyers may find current rates more attractive than they were during the recent rally.

The last ten trading sessions highlight how quickly sentiment can change in the gold market. After a steep correction in the middle of the month, price movements have become far more measured. Today’s rise extends that stabilising trend, although the market is still waiting for a stronger catalyst before making its next major move.

Gold is still trading slightly below where it began the month, but the pace of the decline has slowed considerably. Recent sessions suggest the market is finding its footing, with buyers stepping in whenever prices soften.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold prices are influenced by international bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, import duties, inflation expectations, central bank policies and geopolitical events. Since these factors change almost every day, domestic gold prices are revised daily across cities.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Bangalore edged higher on July 20, with 24K gold rising to ₹14,346 per gram after a quiet weekend. While today’s increase was modest, it suggests that the market is gradually stabilising after last week’s correction. With prices still below July’s peak, buyers continue to have a better opportunity than they did earlier this month, while investors will keep an eye on global cues for the market’s next move.
