Gold prices in Bangalore fell sharply on July 24, reversing a large part of the gains built up earlier in the week. The 24K gold rate dropped ₹185 to ₹14,433 per gram, while 22K gold declined ₹170 to ₹13,230 per gram. The fall pulled prices well below the recent peak reached on July 22.

Bangalore, July 24: Gold prices in Bangalore fell sharply on Friday, deepening the pullback from this week’s high. After slipping ₹33 in the previous session, 24K gold lost another ₹185 per gram, wiping out a sizeable portion of Wednesday’s rally.
The 24-karat gold rate dropped to ₹14,433 per gram from ₹14,618 on Thursday. The 22-karat rate fell ₹170 to ₹13,230 per gram, while 18-karat gold declined ₹139 to ₹10,825 per gram.
Friday’s move stands out because the market had been moving in the opposite direction for much of the past week. Gold climbed strongly between July 18 and July 22, but the last two sessions have changed the near-term picture considerably.

Gold Gives Back Much of This Week’s Rally
Gold’s latest fall comes just two days after 24K prices touched ₹14,651 per gram on July 22.
The move to that level had been quick. The 24K rate stood at ₹14,253 on July 17 before gaining ₹76 on July 18. After holding steady on July 19, prices rose ₹17 on July 20 and another ₹76 on July 21. The rally then accelerated on July 22, when 24K gold jumped ₹229 in a single session.
That momentum did not last.
Prices slipped ₹33 on Thursday before Friday’s much steeper ₹185 decline. At ₹14,433, 24K gold is now ₹218 per gram below the July 22 high.
For investors looking beyond physical gold, Gold ETFs in India offer another way to track gold prices without purchasing jewellery or bullion.

What Would 10 Grams of 22K Jewellery Cost Today?
Friday’s drop has brought down the base cost of jewellery as well. At ₹13,230 per gram, 10 grams of 22K gold is valued at ₹1,32,300 before additional charges.
Using a 12% making charge and 3% GST, the estimated bill comes to:

| Making charges (12%) | ₹15,876 |
| GST (3%) | ₹4,445 |
| Estimated final amount | ₹1,52,621 |
The actual amount paid at a jewellery store may vary based on the design, making charges, wastage and the jeweller’s pricing structure.
10-Day Gold Price Trend
July 24: ₹14,433 (-₹185)
July 23: ₹14,618 (-₹33)
July 22: ₹14,651 (+₹229)
July 21: ₹14,422 (+₹76)
July 20: ₹14,346 (+₹17)
July 19: ₹14,329 (No change)
July 18: ₹14,329 (+₹76)
July 17: ₹14,253 (-₹76)
July 16: ₹14,329 (-₹28)
July 15: ₹14,357 (+₹77)
The 10-day trend shows just how quickly conditions have changed. Gold recovered from ₹14,253 on July 17 to ₹14,651 by July 22, a rise of ₹398 per gram in five days.
The subsequent two-day fall has erased ₹218 of that increase. Even after Friday’s sharp correction, however, 24K gold remains ₹180 above its July 17 low.
Recent Gold Price Performance
| Particulars | 24K Gold | 22K Gold |
| July 15 Price | ₹14,357 | ₹13,160 |
| July 24 Price | ₹14,433 | ₹13,230 |
| 10-Day High | ₹14,651 (July 22) | ₹13,430 (July 22) |
| 10-Day Low | ₹14,253 (July 17) | ₹13,065 (July 17) |
| Change since July 15 | +₹76 | +₹70 |
Friday’s decline has brought prices much closer to where they were in the middle of the month. Compared with July 15, 24K gold is now only ₹76 per gram higher, while 22K gold is up ₹70.
For jewellery buyers who missed the lower rates earlier this month, the correction has therefore removed a meaningful part of this week’s price spike.
Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold rates in Bangalore respond to developments well beyond the local jewellery market. International bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar and import costs all feed into domestic rates.
Interest-rate expectations, inflation data, central bank activity and geopolitical uncertainty can also shift demand for gold. Because several of these factors move daily, local prices can rise or fall sharply even without a major change in jewellery demand.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Bangalore saw a sizeable correction on July 24, with 24K gold falling ₹185 to ₹14,433 per gram. The 22K rate dropped ₹170 to ₹13,230, while 18K gold declined ₹139 to ₹10,825.
The fall marks a sharp reversal from the rally earlier this week. In just two sessions, 24K gold has dropped ₹218 from its July 22 high of ₹14,651. For buyers, that has brought prices back closer to mid-July levels, although rates still remain above the recent low recorded on July 17.
