What Drives Gold Prices in Delhi?

Gold rates in Delhi are influenced by international bullion prices, the US dollar-rupee exchange rate, domestic demand, import costs and broader economic and geopolitical developments. Global gold prices also strengthened on August 17 as a weaker dollar and changing expectations around US interest rates supported the precious metal.

Retail rates can differ between jewellers because of variations in local pricing, making charges and other costs.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Delhi moved higher on August 17, with 24K gold reaching ₹15,581 per gram, while 22K and 18K gold stood at ₹14,285 and ₹11,691 per gram, respectively. Monday’s gains pushed the three purity categories to their highest levels in the 10-day data shown.

For jewellery buyers, the headline gold rate is only part of the final bill. Making charges, GST and other retailer-specific costs can significantly affect the amount paid at the time of purchase.
