Titan Company opened at ₹4,800.00, about 1 per cent above the previous close of ₹4,754.40, but dipped to a low of ₹4,746.00 early in the session, just under that close. The stock then recovered steadily and touched a high of ₹4,857.10. It is trading at ₹4,829.10, up ₹74.70 or 1.57 per cent, about 1.75 per cent above the day’s low. Sellers hold the edge in the order book, with 59.97 per cent of the quantity.

Kalyan Jewellers India opened at ₹543.20, a gap-up of about 2.7 per cent over the previous close of ₹529.05, and touched a low of ₹538.00 in the first half hour before moving higher through the morning. It reached a high of ₹546.10 and is at ₹544.10, up ₹15.05 or 2.84 per cent. The order book is nearly balanced, with 50.57 per cent buy quantity against 49.43 per cent sell.

Thangamayil Jewellery was the strongest gainer, rising ₹162.90 or 3.80 per cent to ₹4,448.80 from ₹4,285.90. It opened at ₹4,320.00, a gap-up of about 0.8 per cent, and has not traded below that price. The stock climbed to a high of ₹4,492.40, which is 4.82 per cent above the previous close, and has eased about ₹44 from that peak. Buyers hold a slim edge in the order book at 50.78 per cent.

PC Jeweller rose ₹0.24 or 1.52 per cent to ₹16.06 from ₹15.82. At around ₹16, the stock is a low-priced counter, so a move of a few paise changes its percentage gain sharply. One paisa is worth about 0.06 per cent of its price at this level. The stock opened at ₹15.90, dipped to ₹15.65, then jumped to ₹16.32 before easing back. Sellers dominate the order book at 67.38 per cent.

Gold is up Rs 6,110 per 10 grams on the day, its third gain in a row, and all four jewellery counters have gained. Thangamayil and Kalyan beat the Nifty 50’s 1.78 per cent gain, while Titan and PC Jeweller trailed the index.

The rupee is in focus for gold buyers. USD/INR futures for the November 26 contract were at ₹94.6400 at 10:17 am. A weak rupee raises the rupee cost of imported gold, and it can limit falls in domestic rates when global prices ease. Gold’s direction in the coming sessions will depend on global prices and the rupee, which set the domestic rate.
