Mumbai, September 08: HCLTech has launched an Advanced Semiconductor Lab in Bengaluru with an investment of ₹185 crore, expanding its capabilities in post-silicon engineering, semiconductor testing and failure analysis.
As per the company’s exchange disclosure, the new facility spans 40,000 square feet and includes a 25,000-square-feet Class 10K cleanroom. The lab is designed to provide end-to-end semiconductor engineering and testing capabilities for customers in India and overseas.
The facility brings together electrical validation, automated testing, qualification and failure analysis under one roof. HCLTech said this integrated setup is intended to shorten the journey from semiconductor design specifications to finished and validated parts.
The lab has been equipped with testing and analytical tools from companies including Teradyne, Advantest, Keysight, Tektronix and Thermo Fisher Scientific. These capabilities will support research and development, pre-production qualification and production testing.
For HCLTech, the investment is aimed at addressing a growing need for advanced semiconductor testing infrastructure while giving global customers access to specialised engineering capabilities from India.
Stock Market Snapshot
The HCLTech share price was trading at ₹1,279.60, down ₹3.20 or 0.25%, as of 3:05:28 PM IST on September 8, 2026, according to the market data shown.
The stock had moved above ₹1,290 during the morning before giving up its gains later in the session. It touched a low of around ₹1,268 before recovering towards ₹1,280 near the latest timestamp.
Despite the recovery from the day’s low, the stock remained marginally below its previous closing level at the time of the update.

Semiconductor Lab Expands HCLTech’s Spec2Parts Capabilities
The Bengaluru facility is aligned with HCLTech’s Spec2Parts business model, which focuses on helping customers move from semiconductor specifications to tested and qualified physical parts.
The company said the lab will support advanced testing and validation requirements while helping streamline multiple stages of semiconductor development. Its capabilities cover automated testing, qualification, failure analysis and related engineering work.
The facility is also expected to support faster turnaround for customers by bringing several testing and engineering functions together. HCLTech said this can help reduce complexity while improving quality and efficiency across semiconductor programmes.
HCLTech Builds On Two Decades Of Semiconductor Expertise
HCLTech said it has more than two decades of experience in semiconductor engineering and has been expanding its capabilities as chip development becomes increasingly complex.
The company said the new laboratory is designed to serve both domestic and international customers. It is also expected to pursue certifications including ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS 9100 and ISO 13485.
The cleanroom includes advanced automated test equipment, probes, qualification chambers and analytical tools, including optical and electron microscopy and focused ion beam systems.
The investment comes as India seeks to build a larger role in the global semiconductor ecosystem, with testing, validation and specialised engineering forming important parts of the chip manufacturing value chain.
HCLTech Expands Technology Services Beyond Traditional IT
HCLTech is a global technology services company with more than 223,000 employees across 60 countries, according to the company’s release.
Its business spans engineering, digital, cloud and software services, with customers across financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare, technology, telecommunications, retail and consumer packaged goods.
Semiconductor engineering is one of the specialised areas within its broader engineering services portfolio. The new Bengaluru lab adds physical testing and validation infrastructure to those capabilities, giving HCLTech a more integrated offering for semiconductor customers.
Conclusion
HCLTech has launched its Advanced Semiconductor Lab in Bengaluru with a ₹185 crore investment, adding specialised infrastructure for semiconductor testing, validation, qualification and failure analysis.
The 40,000-square-feet facility, including a 25,000-square-feet Class 10K cleanroom, is designed to support both research and development and production-related requirements for domestic and international customers.
The investment strengthens HCLTech’s semiconductor engineering capabilities and expands its Spec2Parts offering, while positioning the Bengaluru facility as part of its broader push into advanced technology and engineering services.
On the market front, the HCLTech share price stood at ₹1,279.60 as of 3:05:28 PM IST on September 8, 2026, down 0.25% from the previous closing level.
