HDFC Bank has announced that it is rewarding shareholders with a bonus issue. HDFC share price will carry out the bonus issue in the ratio of 1:1, which means that shareholders of HDFC Bank will receive one extra share for every share they hold. The bank has set 26th August, 2025 as the ex-date and 27th August as the record date for the bonus issue.
The bonus issue is a welcome sign for HDFC Bank’s investors as they will get one extra share without investing any additional sum of money. Although bonus issues do not change the overall investment value, it is a great way for HDFC to enhance liquidity and ensure its shares are accessible to more retail investors.
HDFC Bank is India’s largest bank by market capitalisation. The bank was incorporated in 1994 and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The bank is listed on NSE with ticker symbol HDFCBANK and as 500180 on BSE.
