Mumbai: Indian Hotels Company on Tuesday announced the signing of a 122-key brown-field Gateway hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan.

“With its rich cultural heritage and proximity to NCR, Alwar is emerging as an ideal getaway for travellers seeking nature, wildlife and heritage experiences.

“This signing aligns with our strategy of pioneering new destinations, and we are delighted to partner with Lords India Entertainment Pvt Ltd for this project,” IHCL Executive Vice President, Real Estate and Development Suma Venkatesh said in a statement.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 74 hotels in Rajasthan, including 32 under development.

ICAR-CPRI organises international training programme for PepsiCo executives

The ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day international training programme for executives of PepsiCo from India and Bangladesh to strengthen technical capacity and facilitate knowledge exchange.

The “Potato Excellence and Regional Trainer” programme will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and understand regional challenges, technological requirements and emerging opportunities in potato production and processing.

It will also focus on emerging technologies and sustainable production approaches, including precision agriculture, digital tools, Good Agricultural Practices, efficient irrigation scheduling, integrated nutrient management and improved resource-use efficiency.

In his inaugural address, Jagdev Sharma, Director (Acting), ICAR-CPRI, Shimla, stressed the need for stronger collaboration among research institutions, farmers and the processing industry to improve productivity, processing quality, resource-use efficiency, sustainability and profitability.
