Mumbai, Sept 11: With NSE IPO details declared on Friday, investors are now keenly awaiting for more information on the Jio IPO. The Reliance Industries promoted IPO is one of the most closely watched upcoming IPOs in the Indian stock market. Jio Platforms Limited, the digital and technology arm of Reliance Industries, has proposed a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares.

The company filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) in June 2026, and the IPO subsequently received SEBI’s approval in August. The next major triggers for investors are the Jio IPO price band, IPO opening date, lot size and final issue schedule.

As of September 11, 2026, these final issue details have not been officially announced. Jio’s official investor-relations page currently lists the DRHP and other IPO-related documents, rather than a final price band or issue calendar.

Jio IPO Latest Update

The Jio Platforms IPO is progressing towards its public-market debut following regulatory clearance.

The proposed issue consists of up to 270 million equity shares, or 27 crore shares, with a face value of ₹10 each. The issue is structured as a fresh issue and the final price will be determined through the book-building process.

The IPO is proposed to be listed on both the BSE and NSE.

For investors searching for the latest Jio IPO news, the key point right now is that the IPO is progressing, but the final price band and bidding dates are still awaited.

Jio IPO Date 2026

Jio IPO date has not been officially announced yet.

The DRHP does not specify the IPO opening date, closing date, allotment date or listing date. These dates will be announced through subsequent IPO documents and exchange disclosures.

There have been reports that Jio Platforms is targeting a November 2026 IPO, with investor meetings expected as part of the pre-IPO process. However, the timing remains subject to change and should not be treated as the confirmed Jio IPO date until officially announced.

Why Is the Jio IPO Important?

The Jio IPO is significant because it would give public-market investors direct exposure to one of Reliance Industries’ largest digital businesses.

Jio Platforms has expanded beyond mobile connectivity into areas including fixed broadband, entertainment, digital advertising, enterprise services, cloud and other technology-led businesses.

The company’s position in fixed broadband is particularly strong. According to the industry data included in the DRHP, Jio held a 42.60% share of India’s overall fixed broadband market in FY2026. Its share in the 5G/UBR fixed wireless access segment was 77.49%.

The company also accounted for around 60% of India’s wireless data traffic in FY2026, according to the industry information cited in its prospectus.

How Will Jio Use IPO Proceeds?

A major portion of the IPO proceeds is earmarked for debt repayment.

Jio Platforms proposes to use up to ₹27,500 crore from the net proceeds to prepay or repay certain outstanding borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.

The company said the proposed repayment could reduce net debt and associated servicing costs while improving its financial position.

The DRHP also states that the deleveraging could support continued investment in areas such as 5G network expansion, fixed broadband, AI and cloud services, enterprise digital services and international technology partnerships.

Jio Platforms Debt

As of March 31, 2026, Jio Platforms had total borrowings of ₹70,781 crore.

This included ₹51,454.8 crore of non-current borrowings and ₹19,326.2 crore of current borrowings. The company intends to use ₹27,500 crore of the IPO proceeds towards repayment of certain borrowings.

At the same time, Jio Platforms’ net leverage improved to 0.36x in FY2026, compared with 0.71x in FY2025 and 0.88x in FY2024.

Jio IPO Reservation for Retail Investors

The proposed IPO structure includes separate portions for institutional, non-institutional and retail investors.

The DRHP provides for not more than 50% of the net issue to be available to QIBs, not less than 15% to non-institutional investors and not less than 35% to retail individual investors, subject to the applicable regulations.

There are also proposed reservation portions for eligible employees and eligible shareholders of Reliance Industries.

The exact number of shares available under these reservation categories will be known once the final issue structure is disclosed.

Jio IPO Allotment Status

Jio IPO allotment is not available yet because the IPO has not opened for subscription.

Once the issue opens and closes, investors will be able to check their Jio IPO allotment status through the registrar and the relevant exchange platforms.

KFin Technologies Limited is the registrar to the proposed issue.

The eventual allotment process will depend on the final subscription figures and applicable IPO allocation rules.

Jio IPO Listing

The proposed Jio Platforms IPO is expected to list on the BSE and NSE.

However, the Jio IPO listing date has not yet been announced.

The listing date will be determined after the subscription, allotment and share-credit process is completed.

Jio IPO: What Investors Should Watch Now

For investors tracking the Jio IPO, the next important developments are straightforward:

  1. Jio IPO price band announcement
  2. Jio IPO opening and closing dates
  3. Minimum lot size and minimum investment
  4. Anchor investor allocation
  5. Subscription numbers across QIB, NII and retail categories
  6. Jio IPO GMP after the price band is announced
  7. Jio IPO allotment status
  8. Jio Platforms listing date and listing price

Until these details are officially released, investors should avoid treating unofficial price targets or IPO dates as confirmed.

Jio IPO: Final Takeaway

The Jio IPO is moving towards the public markets after Jio Platforms filed its DRHP and subsequently received SEBI’s clearance. The proposed issue consists of up to 27 crore fresh equity shares.

For investors, the biggest unanswered questions are still the Jio IPO price band, opening date, lot size and listing timeline. Those details will determine the actual entry price and investment amount for retail investors.

Until the company announces these terms, the most reliable way to track the Jio Platforms IPO is through official exchange filings, SEBI documents and Jio’s investor-relations disclosures rather than unverified market estimates.
