Mumbai, November 19, 2025: Several stocks are going ex-dividend and ex-right on Thursday, November 20, 2025. This makes Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the last day to buy the stocks to be able to qualify for the corporate benefits. This has sparked investors’ enthusiasm, increasing the trading activities in several mid and small-cap companies.

Ex-Date, Cutoff Date, And Record Date

Corporate benefits are distributed as per the record date mechanism. This means that whoever holds the shares of the company on the record date will be eligible for the corporate benefits. Now, as the market follows a T+1 settlement cycle, investors cannot invest on the record date. They must be in the books already on the record date. This makes the day prior to the record date the cut-off date.

The cut-off date is the last day to buy the stocks to be able to qualify for dividends and rights. Ex-date is the last day when the stocks trade without corporate benefits on the exchange; therefore, investors should hold the stocks before the ex-date to be in the eligible list. As the ex-date in this case is November 20, 2025, the cutoff date is November 19, 2025.

Dividends and Rights

Dividends and rights issues are some of the most crucial corporate benefits that come with holding the stock of a company. Dividends are a part of the company’s profit or reserves that the company distributes among its shareholders as a cash payout. It is announced on a per-share basis, and investors who are holding shares before the ex date receive the announced amount on each share they hold in the company. On the other hand, a rights issue is an opportunity given to the existing shareholders to buy additional shares in the company at a discounted price. It is called the right issue as it gives the shareholders the right to buy shares of the company. So under it, only the shareholders holding shares as of the record date are eligible to receive rights entitlements.

Companies Under Action

Some key companies that will be under action tomorrow include Catvision Ltd, CFF Fluid Control Ltd, POCL Enterprises Ltd, Sayaji Hotels (Indore) Ltd, and Talbros Automotive Components Ltd, for the interim dividend. ACE Software Exports Ltd and Jainex Aamcol Ltd wil have a rights issue of equity shares. These companies will go ex-dividend and ex-right tomorrow. Therefore, only investors who purchase shares today qualify for these benefits. Due to the same, these stocks have been experiencing some elevated investor activity.
