Mumbai, September 1, 2025Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (NSE: LLOYDSME, BSE: 512455) announced the successful commissioning of a 3.6 lakh tonnes per annum (360 KTPA) sponge iron plant in Ghugus, Maharashtra. The plant was completed in just over 18 months, and with this addition, the company’s total sponge iron capacity rises to 700 KTPA.

Due to the strategic and long-term financial importance of this event, the investors reacted positively to the update. The stock closed at ₹ 1,328 (up 3.04% from the previous day’s closing price). The stock has surged close to 72.60% in the past year. The company’s P/E ratio is 43.99 compared to the industrial average of 9.78.

Key Highlights

The commissioning of the Ghugus unit marks another milestone in the company’s expansion drive. This is the company’s third major commissioning in FY26, following the addition of an 85 km slurry pipeline and a 4 MTPA pellet plant.

The facility strengthens its integrated steel value chain by ensuring captive use of mined iron ore, which enhances operational efficiency and return on capital. The phased ramp-up of operations positions the company to sustain momentum in steel-making growth.
