New Delhi: Pharma major Lupin on Friday said it has launched the generic version of Sugammadex injection indicated to reverse the effects of the muscle relaxants given during surgery in the United States.
Following approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application, the company launched Sugammadex injection, 200 mg/2 mL and 500 mg/5 mL Single-Dose Vial in the US, Lupin said in a regulatory filing.
Lupin’s Sugammadex injection is the bioequivalent to Bridion injection of Merck, Sharp & Dohme LLC (Merck), the company said.
It is indicated for the reversal of neuromuscular blockade induced by rocuronium bromide and vecuronium bromide in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older undergoing surgery, it added.
