Why Most Active Equities Matter
The most active equities list gives investors a quick view of where trading interest is concentrated during the session. When a stock sees a much larger number of shares changing hands, it often means traders are paying closer attention to that counter. A high-volume move can sometimes make a stock more noticeable, particularly when it is accompanied by a sharp price change. However, volume by itself does not explain the reason for the move, so investors should also look at company developments and market conditions.
Conclusion
PC Jeweller Limited stood out as the most actively traded stock on September 4, with more than 108 crore shares changing hands and its price rising nearly 14%. Vodafone Idea Limited and IFCI Limited also saw exceptionally strong participation, while Jindal Worldwide Limited recorded the biggest gain among the five stocks. Swiggy Limited also remained active, with more than 18 crore shares traded. The figures point to strong interest in these counters during the session, although investors should look beyond volume alone when assessing individual stocks.
