Mumbai, July 7: Tuesday’s session wasn’t just about index moves. Activity remained intense across several mid-cap and small-cap counters, with traders spreading their bets well beyond the frontline stocks.

Vodafone Idea (IDEA) once again topped the turnover charts, with more than 38.25 crore shares changing hands during the session. Despite attracting the highest trading volume, the stock slipped 1.14% to close at ₹13.93, highlighting that heavy participation doesn’t always translate into gains.

The spotlight, however, shifted to a handful of stocks that paired strong volumes with impressive price moves. Share India Securities locked in a 20% gain, IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals surged 13.94%, while PWL jumped 8.14%, making them some of the day’s standout performers.

Buying Interest Spread Across Multiple Sectors

The list of active counters reflected broad participation rather than a single market theme.

Infrastructure stock RITES rallied nearly 7%, while Cupid added over 4% after witnessing robust trading interest. TARC and Eternal also ended higher, suggesting investors continued to look at select real estate and diversified businesses.

The strongest move came from Share India Securities, which hit the day’s upper circuit with a 20% jump. IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals also attracted significant buying, climbing almost 14%, while PWL extended its rally with an 8% gain. Sagility India and South Indian Bank rounded off the list of notable gainers among actively traded counters.

Not every heavily traded stock finished in positive territory. VOGL declined 7.70%, Suzlon Energy, Yes Bank, Motisons Jewellers and Vodafone Idea also ended lower despite witnessing sizeable trading volumes.

Where Traders Focused Their Attention

One interesting takeaway from Tuesday’s trade was the diversity of stocks attracting interest. The most active list featured companies from infrastructure, engineering, banking, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, jewellery, financial services and real estate.

Such a mix usually reflects stock-specific action rather than a market driven by one sector alone. While some counters saw fresh buying, others experienced profit booking after recent rallies, resulting in elevated turnover across the board.

Conclusion

Tuesday’s session showed that investor interest remained firmly anchored in the broader market. IDEA retained its position as the most actively traded stock by volume, but Share India Securities, IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, PWL and RITES stole the limelight with strong price gains, underlining the wide participation seen across the market on July 7, 2026.
