Mumbai September, 02: Mphasis Limited has signed a strategic agreement with TechnoPro Holdings, Japan’s technology-focused engineering and staffing company, to expand AI-led enterprise transformation services in the Japanese market.

The partnership brings together TechnoPro’s engineering and industry expertise with Mphasis’ capabilities in artificial intelligence, enterprise modernisation and digital transformation. The companies plan to work across areas including financial services and manufacturing.

Under the agreement, TechnoPro will introduce Mphasis Modernize and Mphasis Optimize to its clients in Japan. The offerings are designed to help enterprises modernise legacy systems, streamline business processes and use AI to support operational and decision-making functions.

The collaboration also includes Mphasis’ cybersecurity, compliance and security capabilities. TechnoPro, meanwhile, is expected to deploy Mphasis’ Tria enterprise AI platform to create AI-enabled software development environments for its workforce.

Stock Market Snapshot

Mphasis shares were trading at ₹2,434, down ₹71.50 or 2.85%, as of 9:21:45 AM IST on September 2, 2026, according to the market data provided.

The stock opened around ₹2,485 and moved lower during the first few minutes of trading. It was close to the day’s low shown on the trading screen at the time of the latest price update.

The Mphasis share price movement came despite the company announcing the Japan-focused strategic partnership, with the stock remaining in negative territory during early trading.

Partnership Targets AI Adoption And Enterprise Modernisation

The agreement is aimed at addressing the growing demand among Japanese enterprises for technology upgrades, AI adoption and modernisation of mission-critical systems.

Mphasis said the collaboration will initially focus on financial services and manufacturing. The company will provide its AI and engineering capabilities, while TechnoPro will contribute its engineering workforce and sector-specific knowledge.

The companies also intend to combine TechnoPro’s workforce capabilities with Mphasis’ AI platforms. This includes using Mphasis NeoIP and Tria to support software development, workflow transformation and AI-assisted engineering.

Mphasis Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Nitin Rakesh said Japan represents a significant growth opportunity as enterprises accelerate digital transformation and AI adoption.

TechnoPro Brings Large Engineering Workforce

TechnoPro Holdings has approximately 30,000 engineers and researchers working across Japan and overseas, according to the company’s release.

The partnership is intended to use that engineering base alongside Mphasis’ AI platforms and enterprise transformation capabilities. TechnoPro said its engineers work directly with clients across areas including automotive, manufacturing and IT operations.

For Mphasis, the arrangement provides another route to take its AI-led services deeper into the Japanese enterprise market. The company said the partnership is expected to support integrated transformation programmes rather than standalone technology deployments.

Conclusion

Mphasis has entered into a strategic agreement with TechnoPro Holdings as it looks to strengthen its presence in Japan and expand the use of its AI and enterprise transformation platforms.

The collaboration covers legacy system modernisation, business process optimisation, AI-assisted engineering and cybersecurity, with financial services and manufacturing identified as initial focus areas.

Shares of Mphasis were down 2.85% at ₹2,434 as of 9:21:45 AM IST on September 2, 2026, according to the market data provided.
