Mumbai, July 15: The Nifty 50 Wednesday’s session saw a mixed sectoral performance as buying in financial, realty and cement stocks helped lift several frontline counters, while weakness in utilities, metals and information technology stocks kept gains in check.
Eternal, Shriram Finance and UltraTech Cement emerged among the session’s strongest performers. On the flip side, Power Grid, Hindalco and Infosys finished at the bottom of the benchmark index.

Top Nifty 50 Losers
| Company | LTP (₹) | % Change |
| Power Grid | 280.80 | -1.87% |
| Hindalco Industries | 962.65 | -1.20% |

Eternal Tops the Gainers’ List
The Eternal share price led the benchmark gainers after rising nearly 3%, while Shriram Finance and UltraTech Cement also posted strong advances. Bajaj Finance and HDFC Life added to the positive momentum, with buying interest extending across select financial stocks.
Among the laggards, Power Grid recorded the steepest decline, followed by Hindalco and Infosys. Losses were also seen in JSW Steel, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Hindustan Unilever and Wipro.
Sector Rotation Keeps Market Balanced
The day’s trade reflected continued rotation between sectors rather than broad-based buying or selling. Strength in financials, cement and a few consumer-facing names offset weakness in utilities, metals and technology stocks, resulting in a mixed finish for the benchmark index.
Conclusion
Eternal, Shriram Finance and UltraTech Cement ended Wednesday as the Nifty 50’s top gainers, while Power Grid, Hindalco and Infosys led the losers, highlighting another session of sector-specific moves in the broader market.
