Nifty IT and Nifty MidSmall IT & Telecom led sectoral gains, while healthcare and financial-services-linked indices remained among the weakest performers as of 12:54 IST on June 2, 2026.

Mumbai, June 2: Indian equity indices traded on a mixed note on Tuesday, with information technology-focused benchmarks outperforming while healthcare and financial-services-linked indices remained under pressure.
Among derivative-eligible indices, Nifty 50 gained 43.45 points, or 0.19%, to 23,426.05, while Nifty Bank advanced 72.65 points, or 0.14%, to 53,715.75. In contrast, Nifty Next 50 fell 0.26%, Nifty Financial Services declined 0.45%, and Nifty Midcap Select dropped 0.70%.
Sectoral performance showed a clear divergence. Nifty IT emerged as the strongest-performing sector, while several healthcare and financial-services indices registered declines during the session.
