Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, September 18: Check Latest Fuel Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad

Mumbai, September 18: Petrol and diesel prices remained largely stable across major Indian cities on Friday, September 18, although some cities reported notable daily changes in fuel rates. Petrol price in Delhi stood at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel was priced at ₹95.20 per litre. Mumbai petrol price was ₹111.21 per litre, with diesel at ₹97.83, while Bengaluru recorded increases in both petrol and diesel prices. Fuel rates also moved sharply lower in Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar.  

Oil prices fell on Friday, extending losses for a third consecutive session, as expectations that alternative routes could help maintain Middle East crude supplies outweighed concerns over fresh strikes involving Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis. Brent crude futures fell 0.9% to $103.8 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude declined 0.8% to $101.1 a barrel. Both benchmarks had fallen about 1% in the previous session. 

The decline came despite renewed concerns over supply after Saudi Arabia and the Houthis exchanged strikes across their border. Oil prices had climbed to around four-month highs earlier this week after damage to Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline disrupted crude flows to the Red Sea port of Yanbu. Three pumping stations were damaged, according to satellite imagery and industry sources, raising concerns that a prolonged shutdown could affect up to 4% of global oil supply. 

Supply concerns eased somewhat after reports that Saudi Arabia was seeking to restore around half of the damaged pipeline’s capacity within days. The kingdom has also offered additional crude cargoes to Asian refiners through ship-to-ship transfers off Oman’s Sohar port, providing an alternative route for supplies outside the Strait of Hormuz. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has also said crude could begin flowing through the pipeline within days. 

However, the oil market remains highly uncertain as the conflict continues to threaten regional energy infrastructure and shipping routes. For India, where the country relies heavily on imported crude, oil prices remaining above $100 a barrel could continue to pose a challenge for inflation, the rupee and corporate margins, even as the latest decline offers some relief to domestic equities. 

Here is a city-wise list of petrol and diesel prices in India today, including rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other major cities. 

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices remained largely steady across major Indian cities, with New Delhi continuing to sell petrol at ₹102.12 per litre, unchanged from the previous day. Kolkata also saw no change, with petrol priced at ₹113.51 per litre, while Gurgaon and Lucknow retailed the fuel at ₹102.97 and ₹101.89 per litre, respectively. 

Mumbai recorded a marginal increase of ₹0.03, taking petrol prices to ₹111.21 per litre. Chennai prices rose ₹0.01 to ₹107.77 per litre, while Noida saw a slightly sharper increase of ₹0.07 to ₹101.96. Bengaluru recorded one of the larger increases among the listed cities, with petrol prices rising ₹0.86 to ₹111.68 per litre. 

Some cities, however, reported notable declines. Bhubaneswar saw petrol prices fall ₹1.52 to ₹108.97 per litre, while Chandigarh recorded a ₹1.60 reduction to ₹101.54. Jaipur prices declined ₹0.84 to ₹112.66 per litre, and Patna saw a marginal fall of ₹0.02 to ₹113.35 per litre. 

Petrol prices also moved higher in Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram, rising ₹0.44 and ₹0.69, respectively, to ₹116.15 and ₹115.49 per litre. Among the cities listed, Hyderabad recorded the highest petrol price, while Chandigarh had the lowest at ₹101.54 per litre. Prices can vary across states and cities due to differences in local taxes and other components of the retail fuel price. 

Diesel Prices
