REC Arm Hands Over Two Power Transmission Projects to Bidders

New Delhi: State-owned REC on Thursday said its arm REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has handed over two electricity transmission projects to their respective bidders for execution.

One of the projects’ special purpose vehicle, Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Ltd, meant for the augmentation of 400/220 kV Bhadla-III Pooling Station, 765/400 kV Ramgarh Pooling Station and 765/400 kV Kanpur Pooling Station, is scheduled for implementation by January 20, 2029, at an estimated cost of Rs 1,035 crore.

This SPV was handed over to Power Grid Corporation of India, REC said in a statement.

The other SPV, Shongtong Power Transmission Ltd, which pertains to the setting up of a 400/220 kV GIS Jhangi Pooling Station in Himachal Pradesh, a 50-km double-circuit line from 400 kV Jhangi PS to Wangtoo, and a 175-km line from 400 kV Panchkula to Wangtoo, is scheduled for implementation within 30 months at an estimated cost of Rs 2,286 crore.

Shongtong Power Transmission Ltd has been handed over to Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Private Limited, REC said.

According to the statement, both the bidders were selected through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, and the projects will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
