Sensex Jumps 176 Points to 80,963, Nifty at 24,819; IT Stocks Lead Early Gains

Mumbai, September 9, 2025:The In͏dian stock ͏market is͏ seeing a strong start today, with͏ both th͏e Sense͏x ͏and Nifty trading higher. The rise in both indices is attributed to supportive global signals and a rebound in the shares of technology companies. Furthermore, a possible interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve later this month is also fueling investor sentiment.
Sensex Up By 176.41 Points While Nifty Up By 46.70 Points
As of 10:20 AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 176.41 points, or 0.22%, and was trading at 80,963.71. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty 50 was up by 46.70 points, or 0.19%, and was trading at 24,819.85. One of the key reasons for the performance is a sharp recovery in IT majors like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and HCL Tech. The indices are being supported by other stocks such as Adani Ports and Larsen & Toubro. On the other hand, some stocks such as Eternal, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and Bharat Electronics are down and are dragging the indices.
Asian Mark͏ets S͏ho͏w P͏os͏itive Mo͏͏mentum,͏ ͏Supporting In͏di͏an͏͏ Indic͏es
Asian markets such as South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained and traded higher, while China’s SSE Composite Index’s performance was flat. US markets ended higher overnight, giving support to Indian markets today.
FIIs Sell ͏₹2,170 Crore, DIIs B͏uy ͏₹3,014 Crore to Stabilise Market
On Monday, FIIs sold Indian equities worth ₹2,170.35 crore, while DIIs provided support by buying Indian equities worth ₹3,014.30 crore. Furthermore, the prices of Brent crude increased by 0.51% to USD 66.36 per barrel.
Indices Expected To Perform Well
The Indian indices are expected to perform well and close in the green. However, investors and traders will be monitoring intraday factors that can affect the indices and individual stocks throughout the trading session.
